i haven't written a word of it yet but i'd like to do a "green hell" story as a tribute to italian cannibal films about a group of climatologists captured by a previously undiscovered tribe of primitives in the amazon.

This was a reply to a private message but for some vague reason, my message apparently would not go through so maybe, just maybe this note will post and maybe he will see it, one can hope.
Hi Stan, Thanks very much for the advice. I will do that. I think my main problem is that I just don't understand the extensive and rapidly changing conventions of the computer world. I often absolutely can't get back to a page in a forum and I usually have no idea where I am in the cyber world. But be that that it may, I am committed to transforming my books into ebooks and getting then on Amazon with my print books. That is definitely the way to go. I am still flummoxed by Mobi even though it seems that I have a well formatted book in Word. I still get an OPF file no matter what I do, which is not accepted by Kindle. There is something I do not understand about the process that is not well documented, at least not well enough for my need for explicit, literal, step by step instructions. For example, for awhile I could not figure out how to get on various websites because they would not tell me what my password was, then someone told me that you have to make up your own password, who would have thought? But I will persevere. Thanks again. Martin

Steps that may be helpful to PM that person:

1) Find the person's post
2) Find that person's Name (located in the top of the "message area.")
3) Click and hold the left button on the mouse.
4) Select "Send a Private message to [that person's name]"
5) You will be presented with a window
6) Give your message a title
7) Type your message in the message box below the title.
8) Click "Submit Message"
9) Go and read an ebook while you await a response.

I'm re-editing another of my already-released novels, Lambs Hide, Tigers Seek, with the idea of re-releasing it soon. As with all my older books, it will get a new cover along with the re-editing and proofing job.

I've been going back and forth over the restoration of a sex scene that was skipped over (fade-to-next-morning style) in the original novel, as well as other content I originally deemed "too much" for the original manuscript... further info about that is in the "Playing the Sex Card" thread.

Dr. Drib, Many thanks for your reply to my searching post that displayed my vast ignorance with things cyber. The reason I have not replied was that I could not find the thread upon which I posted. And I did look hard for it. But I got an email on the thread that enabled me to find it again. I have printed out your instructions and I hope I can reply to future posts, be there any. I'm happy to report that I was successful, after three weeks of intensive effort, at uploading my book on my site at Amazon. The first ebook among the print books. So to answer the question, What are you writing? this is the short description of the book.

Project Phoenix: A concept for future existence: Just as those who lived only 100 years ago could not imagine the world of today, so we cannot fathom what the world of 100 or 1000 years in the future might be like. But for the first time in human history we have the science and technology that can preserve the essence of our being, our genetic code and our life history, for a distant future. This book explores who we are today and the possibility that we could exist again in some future time. The concept may be fanciful, impractical, and irrelevant in today’s world, but it is not impossible, and that fact makes it interesting to consider the potential for preservation of the essence of individual human beings.

We will see what, if anything, comes of it.

I'm working on a novella to go with my thriller series. It's a tough subject about animal cruelty and all the proceeds will be going to two dog charities I usually contribute to.

Certainly a topic that needs looking into. I'll be looking forward to it.

I'm working on my third Anne Droyd novel, Anne Droyd and the Ghosts of Winter Hill. The first draft is complete. I'll do a readthrough and then it's off to my proofreaders.

I am curious.
Will you give it a revision notice/indicator or some sort on the title line.
Like "Green Valley":: "Green Valley II," "Return to Green Valley," "Green Valley Revisited," "Green Valley, Sandra's folly."

Or will you change, and/or also change the subtitle line?
"Green Valley," "the story behind."
"Green Valley II," "the untold story."

Of course there are many standard terms, most of which I dislike, like "redux."

The story is essentially the same, but with a renewed editing pass to improve the text, and the aforementioned included scenes. I plan to designate it as "Revision 1" from the original manuscript, and state that the original title was "Lambs Hide, Tigers Seek." It will be in the opening pages of the book, and I'll state the same thing on the book's description page, so there should be no confusion.

Not that it should matter much. The original book sold so few copies, because people were scared away by the original description--it mentioned bondage, and I suppose everyone assumed it would be a whips, chains and dungeons kind of story (which it isn't) and avoided it. Make no mistake: This is a noir detective story.
