Good evening!

It has been a busy week. One more week before half term

Just finished a cup of Uji Sencha Miyabi directly from Japan. Nice cuppa.
I have also reconsidered my opinion on Kagoshima Sencha Sae Midori from the same source.
I have decided to bypass their brewing advice and steeped Sencha my way (the way I steep Sencha Uji from NBTea). The result was much better. The grassy flavour was considerably reduced and I liked both of Sencha. Any better/similar/worse than NBTea's Sencha Uji? Cannot answer on this question yet. I was planning to try one of grassy and Uji today but ...didn't get a chance. Next weekend.
All work days I jogged 1mile every evening. Each time I enjoyed a cup of Pi Lo Chun "Green Snail Spring", Chinese green tea. For some reason, after jogging I wanted a cup of Chinese green tea as the first cup and no other tea. No explanation. My stomach refused to submit a full report.

Yesterday, I opened a tin of Keemun. I loved it. Predictable, isn't it?
Was is better/worse/the same as The East India Company's Keemun Downy Bud grade A? Tough question. I am afraid I cannot answer because I don't have the latter any more and my memory doesn't serve me anymore so, I cannot compare them side by side. I am sure it is the second Keemun that I really like. The first one was The East India Company's.

Over the half term I am going to London to visit The Chinese Tea Company London. Juyan will do a tea tasting only for two of us, because we can't come on Friday (the tea tasting ceremony usual day).
We can try any 4 tea. We have chosen Raw Pu-erh, Ripened Pu-Erh (she has such a good but unfortunately very expensive range! We want to try something good, only to know what we miss ) Then Keemun and finish with Lapsang Souchong. Both are too expensive for me to buy but I am very curious about their flavour. Again it would be interesting to compare with what I have tried so far.

The opposite for me. The first cuppa in the morning must be either good quality Assam or Blend (Assam and Ceylon). A desire to drink a cup of Keemun comes later.

Turkish coffee in my cup. I'm off to run an oatmeal bath and read my pbook in the tub. I've broken out into hives, and am scratching like crazy, I hope the bath helps! I don't know whether this warrants a visit to the walk in, or if it can wait (I'm not going into anaphylactic shock or anything like that, but I do feel 'off'). I've had them for a few days, i had at first thought that they were just a patch of dry skin, but I now suspect that I must be having an allergic reaction to something.

My pbook is a library book, but I suspect that I will end up ordering a used copy of it from amazon (it's out of print). It will come in handy if/when I teach a course on the history of the Latin language. Mind you, I already have a bookcase full of 'will come in handy one day' books. Good thing I enjoy reading them, lol!

I keep trying various Sencha's and not really liking most of them. I really find them too grassy and the just don't work for me the same way a Chinese green tea does.

Morning cuppa is almost always either Scottish Breakfast (from Peets, it has a hint of Lapsang Souchong in it), or Pride of Port (a good blend also from Peets).

Keemun in the afternoon or evening. When I want to relax and read a bit.

Don't tell me.
When we moved house 2 years ago, I packed 9 HUGE cardboard boxes (dell desktop full tower+monitor+cables, all in separate boxes could fit into one) with wife's teaching materials such as books of the same kind as 'will come in handy one day' and folders full of support materials, scheme of works and lesson plans. I know that the removers hated us. Our study was on the first floor with very narrow and small winding stairs...When we finally moved, a lot of the stuff went directly to the orange bin (recycle rubbish bin in our county) under my impartial supervision

I learn. I think I prefer Chinese, mostly. Sometimes I want Sencha but not the grassy type. The first one that I tried I loved and it was not grassy at all. Those two from O-Chah are different. I am sure they are of higher quality but I prefer different flavour.
I am looking forward to tasting one grassy and the one that I loved, not grassy, side by side next weekend.

Saturday and Sunday mornings are black tea paradise for me
Since, I am not friend of Zumba, so today in the morning I started with 2 cups of Assam, a new one for me and the last of the single estate Assam I purchased in Fortnum and Mason in February (Assam Numalighur TGFOP1 Second Flush). As usual, superb Assam. The third one was the first cup of Keemun of the same brand. Then a very good Yunnan Black Golden Tips from Chah Online Tea. I left some windows open and had a cold shower in the morning. As a result, I was still cold. As a result I had Lapsang Souchong. When she came home she asked me whether I burned something

A cup of Bojenmi. Well, Bojenmi was in the cup . It is empty now
Gotta refill it.
Some blue tea will do, or Keemun?

It was the last cup of Ginseng tester.
I remember I raved about it in February/March.

It lost to milk oolong and lost in general. It was a nice oolong but I won't order it. The taster was enough. I think milk oolong is the exception. Looks like I stick to not flavoured tea.

Almost always. Probably the only exception for me is the occasional cup of Earl Grey. I've got two here, a "typical" one with bergamot, or a lavender one. Neither is something I usually go for, but every once in a while, they hit the spot.

I tend to prefer the Japanese Greens to the Chinese Greens. I don't like the pan fried taste of the tea. (shrugs)

It is a good thing that there are so many tea options for all of us.

Oh no, you poor thing. Maybe not a food allergy, but have you thought about a new soap or something? Laundry soap? I have a friend who breaks out in hives when using many laundry soaps. I hope you are doing better now.

Waiting for a new cup of coffee to brew, so staring into a empty cup right now.
