I've submitted another patch with some changes:
- Auto-populate some of the periodical fields when sending news feeds. This will speed up scanning when adding periodicals a little bit, and make behavior more consistent. - Can toggle between normal and 'T1-style' authors when populating books.db. The default will be normal (showing all authors). 'T1-style' is showing only the first author. - Driver will now attempt to calculate and use the UTC offset from the device, instead of assuming local time. This should reduce/eliminate the long rescans some people are seeing. I wonder if it should assume local time or UTC when there are no books on the device at all though... I might have to play with the reader software and see what it does to the database (if anything). It'd be easier to test that situation if I had a second reader I could just factory reset without losing all my current reading progress. ![]() Last edited by Kolenka; 10-15-2011 at 01:45 PM. |

I don't think it is that important and just wondering if anybody else tried. Certainly not high priority... The driver in my mind is 100% done... thank you again Kolenka... maybe you should start a chip-in account for that second T1 for any additional features... ![]() Last edited by azxswq; 10-15-2011 at 06:03 PM. The T1 is certainly picky about how it recognizes epubs more than others like Stanza. I'd need to do some checking of the HTTP headers themselves to know for sure.

The content server most definitely sends the correct mimetype header when serving ebook files.
@Yamuswife: According to that debug output your device is not being recognized as a disk by the operating system. You need to contact SONY for support. |

I just tried this myself, and downloaded an ePub just fine from my Calibre library. So if it doesn't work, it might be something network related. |

Could be an Android problem, but I am not sure. Without any username and password, it works just fine. It works with stanza, chrome and all other browsers that I tried. [With authentication enabled!] But not T1's browser with authentication enabled. The reason for authentication was to open up a port forward while I travel... But maybe I might need to shut it down for now. Last edited by azxswq; 10-16-2011 at 08:24 AM. |

IIRC Android does not support digest auth, dont ask me why, given that Google is ostensibly an internet company.

I'm struggling a bit with plugboards and, I believe, the device interface plug-in.
In the plugboard (Format: device_db and Device PRST1) I use: '{author_sort}' to 'author' '{series:|| }{series_index:0>2s|[|] - }{title}' to 'title' In the device interface plugin I have ticked 'User author sort for author'. First time I try this, it all seems to work fine. But as soon I go into a book and then out again into the UI, author names have reverted to FN LN and titles no longer show the series information. I have tried this in many different combinations (removing the author stuff from the plugboard, using 'title_sort' instead of 'title' etc.) but the end result always end up the same; authors not being author sort and titles not having series info. Restarting the reader has had no positive effect either. Any ideas as to what goes wrong for me? |

@Scott
The unexplained 'disappearing plugboard' is a known problem. Firstly, though, if you are mapping author_sort to author in the plugboard you should also UNTICK 'Use author sort for author' in the device interface plugin for the PRST1. This may not solve the problem on its own. Did you try the action sequence I listed in post #223 above? This worked for me but cannot be described as a definitive solution. |

Thanks, jackie_w.
I figured it was a bit of overkill to set author to author sort both in plugboard and plugin but frustration got the better of me! Your steps in #223 did not work for me; all books on my device were removed. I have set Metadata management to automatic - should I change that? |
