Hi rcandi and welcome to MobileRead. Good to have another old fa.., er, senior citizen in the group. And, if I can figure out Calibre, you should have no problem.

Baby steps, that's the secret. Or just do it, that's also a good approach.

Thanks for the kind and encouraging comments folks. I am slowly gaining ground with both the e-Book formats and Calibre. I have actually learned a few things over the last few days.

I think that Calibre is a very good application and wish that folks all learned to post books in a standard way. It takes me 10 times longer to clean up the ebook posting in Calibre than it does to download them. 75%+ normally have the Author and the Title reversed and almost 100% of them have garbage and/or other unwanted information in almost all fields. Such as Series in the Author or Title fields, their own name in the Author field, revision numbers (whatever the hell that is for) in the Author/Title fields, etc. To me the book is complete as it comes from the publisher. I like to see every page when I look at an ebook. I can't see any justification for alterations, changes or otherwise since I want to see what was originally published NOT what some clown thinks is best. Oh well, enough of my venting...I shall carry on and figure out a way to make my labors easier. Thanks for listening. |
