Nope not that. I recognized the first two quotes as Wodehouse, poohbear_nc beat me to posting that, but not My Man Jeeves the first and only Widehouse book I've read. I know as I searched that ebook for the first quote.

Bilbo's got it. I figured Spode would narrow the field.

Actually I couldn't have answered this either. Wodehouse's voice is unmistakable, but his titles are fungible.
