I'm glad I've waited to buy the K4. Once it's here in Australia next month I plan to compare the 3 & 4 side by side and then decide. Hopefully the stores here will still have Kindle 3 at that stage.

I've been trying out different fonts on the K4. I can say Georgia looks awful! It doesn't render right. I don't like the original Caecilia, It's too wide. I prefer the condensed version but can't get my hands on it to modify it.
Right now I have settled on Tahoma which I use on my phone to read books. I love this font. It's black but thin not fat but still very readable. It's a sans-serif font though. I am using the Medium line setting. I've yet to find a condensed serif font I can use. ![]() One thing I notice with the font plugin is that when you change the font sizes via the menu it kicks you out of the book and gives an error and wont let you back in. You have to go to another book then another till one loads then you can go back into your book and see the changes. ![]() |

I think she meant she would like to be able to use Caecilia Condensed but the Bold and Bold-Italic only. That way the font would be darker, thicker, and easier to read. |

![]() ![]() I think my K4 knows I don't like it much and it's giving me fits. ![]() I think I'll stay with Tahoma unless someone has a suggestion. I tried the default sans font on the kindle but it was too bold for my liking. Edit: Okay I know have the perfect font and now can read happily. ![]() I actually like it better then the Condensed font. ![]() Last edited by Blossom; 10-12-2011 at 08:33 PM. |

Maybe someone is interested in a size comparison of Kindle 4 and Kobo Touch. They are pretty much identical, the Kindle 4 feels a little thinner however. I like the soft plastic finish on the Kobo more though.

That's good for Kobo owners in the United States who've been trying to find really nice cases. When I had mine there wasn't much to choose from. Now there will be a good selection to ponder.

Yup, I bought a Kobo Touch carrying case for my new Kindle because the sizes are the same.

Inquiry please.
Two people in my house have a nook and nook color, they enjoy them but I was visually thrilled by kindle fire and all of it's features. I have a couple of specific questions 1) is there anyway, either easy or difficult, to share/read nook books on kindle and vice versa? 2) does the kindle fire have a headset jack (and the ability to play mp3 or audio books)? Thanks for any and all help Lisa |

Kindle books cannot be read on a Nook, neither can Nook Books be read on a Kindle, but books that do not contain DRM can be easily converted from one format to another using a program such as Calibre for reading on either device.
For books containing DRM, you may wish to put 'Apprentice Alf' in your search engine. |

Audio is supported, therefore a headset jack is present. |
