Anyone trying the iOS5 upgrade today?
Is anyone planning to upgrade their idevice to iOS5 over the next couple of days? I'm typically a "wait at least a few days to see what breaks" kind of person, but I'm very interested to hear how it goes for those of you bold enough to install the earliest version.

I've been running the gold master for a few days now and other than having the app store crash on me once, haven't had any issues. Certainly better than the betas were and I like the new notification system. Not using iCloud so can't comment on that and I wish I could remove the new Newstand app as I have no desire for any magazines on there and it is just wasting space. Beyond that it has performed pretty well so far.

Expect an error message of some type.

I just spent 3 hours upgrading, only to get an error. Two more brief attempts yielded the same error.

Apple is having severe issues with this upgrade. I'll wait until things settle down and they get their act together.

In the mean time, enjoy the experiences of hundreds of other users who also received such error messages.

It's not that bad really, considering that so many major software upgrades have hiccups exactly like this during their first day. Not just from Apple.
