Slight problems with Blackberry - which RiM say, rather charmingly, I thought, was down to "a core switch failure" .....

Even I could have told them to go to a DIY store and get a new one.....

Must be a big one, mind................

A network switch is not the same as a light switch... DIY stores don't tend to carry those.

In fact, given how much goes through it, it's probably five or six figures to replace. I recall a phone outage once here at work that involved a $300,000 switch.

Sometimes taking out what doesn't work, blowing on it and putting it back in makes it work again. It worked with an laptop I had once that had a removable drive. It was the only fix I could think of at the time Blowing off nonexistant dust...

My blackberry seemed to work okay this morning, but conked out in the afternoon. Since 4:00, absolutely nothing. I got a message sent at 5:19 last night, at 3:15 this afternoon. I was working at home today - had to finally boot up the old computer.
