I usually get around to them-but not when first installing. Just curiosity |

On rare occasions, when I'm dealing with something new or something important like uploading person work, etc. I will. But for most things? No. |

Because I work in the Licensing department of a software company, I read them all the time. Be surprised what might be hidden in there!

As a lawyer, I rarely read them. If there is something I don't like in the Kindle Terms, I am going to do without a Kindle? My DH just about had a stroke when I picked up a pen to start signing our mortgage documents (the closer had already gone over the important stuff - amount borrowed, term, interest rate). It isn't like they are going to make any changes in the docs - we either want the mortgage, or we don't. I want to use Quicken, or I don't. Why make yourself feel helpless?!

Who has the time and energy to spend analyzing each bit of legalese in these highly technical documents? Terms usually only serve to reduce the rights of the purchaser... I understand that concept, and I usually am willing to take that chance because the alternative is not to use/buy the product. If what I do with the product is later considered illegal, I am willing to live with this risk too, because my mode of operations is to act ethically where possible, even if my ethics don't agree with the corporate world. The few times I have read legal terms of sale/use, it is usually after I hear something negative about it. Vic |
