When you get a cheque from Amazon

Who is it made out to, the name of the owner of the Amazon buying account, the name of the writer, or the name of the publisher? (assuming they are all different).

The cheques come with the name you set up for them to come to when you open the account. Just click account and see what name is there. That's the name the cheque will be paid to.

It's also possible to have Amazon put the money straight into your bank account via direct deposit. This is my preferred approach, as I then don't have to remember to mail the check anywhere.

I love direct deposit. While I don't write books for Amazon my disability is direct deposit so I know when my funds for the month are there via checking my account online.

Unfortunately that doesn't apply if you live outside the US. My October UK cheque didn't arrive and I'm still waiting to get the replacemment. My Oct US cheque arrived and I have to forward to my banking agent in the UK as it costs too much to deposit it in SA - but he didn't receive it and I'm waiting to find out what is going to happen about a replacement cheque.

My November UK cheque arrived and I've forwarded that one to the UK, but that also hasn't arrived yet
