Excellent. Just bought three Bob Shaws and two Ian Watsons to let them know the initiative is much appreciated!

I'm looking the books at Waterstones at the moment and liking what I see.

I know it's a bit soon but has anyone checked out the quality of the books yet?

Unfortunately, it appears that few are available in the U.S. I'm seeing between 6 and 8 titles, depending on how I search. Hopefully things will change in the future.

The ePubs I got from Waterstone's look pretty good to me.

Simple, classic yellow cover. No obvious typos. Chapter links in place.

They've used a small font size, which on my Sony PRS-650, where I normally read in Medium, I'd be happy with on either the Medium or Large setting.

One really nice thing for me is that the ePub has very small left and right margins set, none of that "inch and a half of white space to either side and an annoying spindly column in the middle without resorting to Calibre" nonsense.

Typos are the main thing that concerns me.

If they are look all right in that department, then I think I might just indulge.

I've bought a couple - but only had a quick browse. Seem ok, cover, TOC etc.

Yep... A lot different than a couple of days ago. I'll have to go through the list and see what's available.

Go to your favourite ebook store and search by publisher. I don't think they have their own ebook store.

I think when they've finished building it http://www.sfgateway.com/ will list all of the books available, and hopefully tell you which ones are sold at which online store (Waterstones, Amazon etc.). As HarryT says they won't have their own store.

They are also working on worlwide rights. All the books released now should be available in the UK and related areas with more added to US availability as they acquire the rights.

The SF Gateway site has now gone live - http://www.sfgateway.com/

It's got info on the authors and books available. I can't see any buying options aside from a list of physical stores, but that might be due to it still being in BETA.
