would rather have 3g on it, but price wise, it's much better than what I paid for my prs 600. This will be my one and only device from Sony, I hate the reader library software----especially the updated version. I tried the updated version, I REALLY hate it, so I uninstalled it and added the old version back to my pc. I really can't complain about the reader itself, just the software.

Calibre cannot convet ePub > Mobi so all features of ePub work the same. Inline images and blockquotes won't convert properly. Embedded fonts won't convert.

I do use Calibre, I really like it. Do I have to the sony soft ware on my pc in order for adobe digitals to authorize my books that I down load from my public library? I'm sorry, this is off topic, and I couldn't figure out how to delete the post

I'm sold on the T1, after 3 days of decent use and playing around with it, it is by far my favorite e-reader to date. I've had 4 different sony's and 2 different nooks, never had any kindle hardware. The only complaint I have is with the the sony desktop software it is extremely disappointing.

I just played around with the PRS-T1 for the first time.... wow! I am very impressed - it is quite a bit faster than my PRS-350, which is no slouch. I love the design. The glossy bezel is not nearly as bad as I had feared. I would have picked it up today, but the red and white models weren't in yet at my local Sony store, and I had my heart set on the red. The cover is quite nice and light, too, and I like the way it holds the reader firmly in place.

I've had mine for a few days and it's been great EXCEPT that I find when reading books and using the screen to change pages, it will randomly start scrolling dozens of pages and the screen becomes unresponsive. I can still use the buttons say to go home, but the touch still doesn't work. If I leave it on standby for 5 minutes or so, the touch works again.
Anybody else see this issue? Think it's a bug or hardware fault? ![]() |

Just a guess, don't rest your thumb on the screen after a page swipe. Doing this tells the reader to scroll rapidly through pages.

From what I hear, it's more than that - it seems the screen 'gets stuck' into turning pages. It happened once or twice on my 350 as well and I wasn't even touching the screen at the time. I wondered if something small triggered it - I once had ash blown from a cigarette from someone sitting at the table next to mine turn a page, so you never know. But it definitely felt like software, not hardware.

Pictures of my new white reader, for those wondering what this colour looks like.
I think I made the right choice with colour as I cannot see any finger prints nor a reflection of myself due to the glossy nature of the thing. I don't plan to read in direct sunlight anyway! http://www.flickr.com/photos/8354827...7627858927670/ |
