new t1 owner. have 650 as well. thoughts.
Will probably keep both, or ebay the 650. How much it would fetch on fleabay?
love the speed of the t1. feels not as solid as 650 for sure. That reader is quality. This feels kinda cheap but it so light and thats what i care about in my old hands and old wrist. instant accesss to my books on sony reader store and downloading them. I like that alot. Good speed of the keyboard with little lag. flash between screens WORSE than 650. this is a negative and a positve for the 650. what do you think. your comparison and thoughts welcome. have a blessed weekend. |

That screen refresh problem seems almost like a deal breaker for me. I would love to upgrade to a T1 from my 650 simply for the ability to free me of the hassle of having to use the store on my comp and of the library app but the plastic body and screen flash are scaring me away.

The only flash that I find jarring is the flash on the browser while searching for books. Page turns, or going through the menus and pages of collections and books isn't horrible. I can get used to it in the browser though.
At first I found the unit trying to load the covers of the books flashing rather annoying but that seems to have settled down and it doesn't flash. I have no rhyme or reason as to why, it's just an observation. |

I would say the screen flash is about the same as on my 350. On my defective Sony the flashing was more apparent.
The flash I notice & it is multiple is when I bring up the reader store & click on the fist book to view. After the first time or two it doesn't have the multiple flash. So I would say the worst of my flashing happens at the reader store. |

You should be able to get at least $170 for a used 650 on ebay. If you enjoy your 650 I would just keep it. They both do pretty much the same basic things except for internet connection. If you are real anal about font and text size, the t1 offers a few extra. So that should be something to think about. IMO the 650 is also asthetically more pleasing than the t1. Bottom line is though if you enjoy reading both devices will deliver that very well. |

![]() I have decided to stick with 650. I don't care about fonts but I do love the metal case and the way the reader is connected to its cover. |

Have had a 505 for close to four years now but, although I like it a lot, it is staring to show it's age, especially in the battery, and I'm contemplating the T1.
Can you buy books from anyone else, like Kobo, via the WiFi or are you limited to Sony? I do know you can download books from the library directly. My main concern about WiFi is I'm afraid after I've had a couple of drinks at night, I'll start buying books. LOL |

What about the screen itself (not the flashing).
How is the contrast of the T1 and is the back of the screen less gray than the one of the PRS 650? According to someone there are differences. Is true? Anyway, I think that I will stick on my PRS 650 and 350. With PRS+ installed on both, I have much more fonts than the 6 of the T1; and they are choosed according my taste, not the one of the Sony. My friend picked up her T1 today and I'm tempted to go and get one tomorrow. Her screen is easier to read.
I think that's the biggest fault of my 650 - the font is not as clear as the one on my Kindle. I get used to it but I really liked the fonts on her T1. |
