Calibre hangs at startup

When I start up 8.21 on os x lion it says

the application was forced to quit while trying to restore it's windows. do you want to try to restore it's windows again?

but it then freezes and I can't do anything but force quit. I've tried downloading an older version but same result.

Alsonoticed it was stuck at reading library so I renamed the library Path and calibre opened. Must be corrupt library.

I'm having a similar issue,calibre won't open in leopard on a powerpc. It just hangs on startup. Can you give me a little more detail on how you renamed the library path?

I'm not a Mac user but the last version of calibre to run on a PowerPC is 0.7.28. The following is from Calibre's OSX download page.
