2. When browsing, can you pull up any site, or are you limited to the specific sites (Wiki, books stores, libraries, facebooks.....) that it has been preset for. In particular I was wondering about pulling up my web home page.

3. Do you have to use the Sony Reader to read the books. I always just drag and drop my non-DRM'd books onto the SD card and read from there. How will this work?

Thanks for answering. I am strongly leaning towards the T1.

1) Yes, mine has only been full since I got it last night, but it's on the home screen menus and browser. Thankfully, when reading books that top "status bar" goes away for more screen real estate.

2) Any site -- browser works better than I expected. I think it's shown on the review videos, but there is only a partial screen refresh when scrolling, the full refresh happens when you stop scrolling.

3) I tried this with inbuilt storage so far (1.4GB available), but assuming it works same for sd card storage on device -- yes you can drag and drop into any folder/subfolder structure you like and when you unplug from USB, and the T1 adds your books the built in library database, with covers and all.

A comment regarding fingerprints.... I think my T1 screen will need to be cleaned more frequently than my 950. I think it's because of the new tap and hold feature versus the previous quick double-tap.

I thought it was optional....are you saying that double tap is unavailable in T1?

Yep! Same thing goes when trying to make a bookmark. No more double tap, it's a single. Not a huge deal but I didn't think you could make a bookmark at first because nothing happened when I double clicked but it did make a bookmark when you single click.

Thanks for the answers. I went back to that evaluation video on MobileTech Review and it shows on the Settings that there is a Home Page setting, default (I assume) to the Sony Reader. I hope it can be set to any page, then I could set it to my Web Homepage. I would be

The firmware and menus are different. The press-and-hold pop-up menus for highlights, Wikipedia, search, dictionary, etc are very similar to how my Nook Color and various Android reading apps work.

Yes, you can pick the home page on the T1, which I don't think you can do on the 950.

Did anyone have trouble with the lighted cover for the PRS-650? I haven't had mine a year and the light has quit working. I changed the battery and that didn't help and I don't see a way to change the light bulb. I'm pretty sure I'll break my resolve to be frugal and get the T1 but I'm hesitant to get another lighted cover if they don't last well.

Why would you want to watch videos and remote access your computer with an eink device? That's just silly (IMHO).

Okie dokie then. I have a very peculiar sense of humor but it didn't read like a joke to me. But then again the typed word doesn't have the subtle nuances of tone of voice or a smirk or a naughty little glint in your eye to indicate that you are actually joking.

Sorry. I was on the verge of chucking the thing against the wall when I read your post and I'm thinking - dude are you insane??? LOL
