Anyone upgrading their K3 for the Kindle Touch

I am getting a T1 I don't like the look of the New Kindle Pearl screen on the K4 so I canceled my order on the Touch it's different then the K3 I have but I am happy with my new K4 just wont be selling my K3.
I may get a Touch later if it proves they used a different screen then the one on the basic K4.

I'm seriously tempted to go for the Touch for the smaller form factor alone. But I'm mainly concerned about fingerprints on the screen, the screen on my K3 (and the K2 before it) are magnets for smudges and dust. Also, other than a quicker refresh time and x-ray, I don't see any other improvements in the reading experience itself over the K3. I was perfectly happy with my K2 until I actually saw what a huge improvement the Pearl screen of the K3 was. I'll hold off until I can actually mess around with one at a brick and mortar store before I decide for sure.

so the replacement unit has screen issues as well?

It's definitely lighter and has no smokey gray cast to it. However the background is light gray as where my K3 is creme color and so is my Pocket Pro so it's definitely not the same screen as my K3 but the text on the replacement is a big improvement while it's not deep dark black it's close enough to say it's black but it's not something I would give my K3 up for. Those upgrading from other readers like K1, K2 and Vizplex readers will love this!

It's just the K3 has me so spoiled and the only screen I've seen to compete with is the T1. I just hope my K3 never needs replacing because I've seen a few pics of the newer K3 made this year and they don't seem to be as good but they are still better looking to me then the two K4s I had in my hands.

I am happy with my replacement for $79 it's a great deal!

seems like a supplier/manufacturer change or a qc problem with the manufacturer or both. too bad really. sure glad i don't want or need one.

Maybe or maybe my K3 is just special. It's got a nice cream background I posted another comparison pic in another thread so they could see the difference.
