Running additional apps on the PocketBook Pro 903

Hello everybody,

Last week I purchased the PocketBook Pro 903. I like this e-reader a lot but I have problems running additional apps on the device. I tried to install games and other apps like poterm (http://pocketbook-free.sourceforge.net/en/index.shtml) on the device but they don't work. I copied the various .app files into the applications dir on the internal device. When I choose applications from the main menu they show up but when I start them I get the error that the application can't be started. OS version is 2.0.5. I even tried a shell script hello.app with the contents:
#!/bin/sh
echo "Hello World"

but I get the same error. Is there some protection system running on the device which prevents additional applications from running or do I have to do something more to run additional apps?

Perhaps you are loading applications built for the old systems. The newer Pro series applications are not compatible with the old ones. See this thread for apps and tips aimed at the new devices: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=119973

Edit: That thread really needs to be made sticky.

Thanks for the tip. Only I didn't find the info I needed in the suggested link. On the other hand I found this discussion which is the answer of my problem:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=114745
I downloaded the version of poterm for the new API from:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/att...6&d=1296078465
This version runs fine on my PocketBook 903. Thanks again for the quick reply.

That discussion is linked in comment 1.b under the COMMUNICATION/SHELL ACCESS section in the link I gave you. Of course, you can search the forum yourself, but that thread gives you quick access to many of the most important threads on the Pro series. Don't give up on it so soon.
