I have it in that mode. Needed to do that with my Sony 350.

Does the new software for the T1 reader recognize the 350's? PC software that is.

I don't know. I'm keeping the old Reader Library on my computer just in case.

Me too. But when I installed the Reader for PC it found the Reader Library and asked if I wanted to download the books. I said yes so now I don't know what's going to happen. I guess I'll see shortly. lol

I've just tried downloading from Kobo right from the browser and it displayed the same error message.

Personally, I forego Reader Library entirely, and use Calibre for my 950.

I'm quite happy with the Sony Library. I've never had an issue.

I am too. I've had more problems figuring out Calibre. Just not tech savvy enough I guess. I have downloaded to them but use just the basics. The rest of the stuff is over my head. But I do like having more than one place to store my books .

Ok glad to hear I'm not the only thick-headed one. lol I couldn't quite get Calibre either. Although, right now I'm not liking the new Sony software either. I much preferred the old software. blech!

I've downloaded several books from Kobo. I logged into my account and then went to my library page and then selected the download link next to the book name.

A few observations that I see. When I download an ebook directly like from a free EPUB from feedbooks, it shows up in the notifications list with the name of the EPUB file (e.g. Author -Title.epub). The Kobo notification says "URLlink.acsm?action=enterorder&ordersource" then it's cut off screen. The library book notification is similar. It says "booktitle.acsm?" then it's followed by a string which is cut off screen.

Another observation. You can see your download list. Open the browser. Select the menu button and then More > Downloads. Only the EPUB files that were directly downloaded show in this list. The library and Kobo books do not!

Last observation. When you open a book, you can select the menu button and then More > Settings > Info to see the filename and location. The library and Kobo books show their proper EPUB filename and that they have been stored in the Download folder in the main memory. The same file path as the direct EPUB file downloads.

Hope that helps you.

Yes, the new software will recognize the older models. It's not just for the T1.

Bookworm Girl do you have the slightest idea how to stop the autosync nonsense? I hate it with a passion!! Every time I connect the fool thing it autosyncs even when I uncheck it.

The only way I've found to delete books off my reader is to manually do it individually. I can't delete collections because it's classed as syncing to the reader so it won't let me. waaaa!!

I assume you mean the new software? Under preferences there is an option to prevent the Reader software from opening up by default when you attach your ereader by USB. I always keep that unchecked. That's my first recommendation. I am away from computer at the moment but I think when your reader is attached at the top of the page there may have been a sync box that you could check on and off to force it to be manual sync only? I think there was something in the help manual too. Hard to remember by memory. The sync seems kind of slow in the new software compared to the old.

Sorry. Yes the new software. I unchecked as per your suggestion but didn't initially because I didn't think that had anything to do with syncing. I thought that was like iTunes and meant that as soon as you connect the device it will start the software program.
