lol. Thanks Kennyc. It's good to find that some people think I'm still young yet.

It seems the yrs go by faster and faster the older I get.

Well, I prefer Krewerd over Denver any day.... We already discussed how we would redo our house if we ever couldn't climb the stairs anymore to our bedroom (everything else is downstairs). Theoretically we wouldn't have to change a thing, but we'd combine two rooms into one to create a large bedroom. Remove the window from it and add some French doors to the garden...

Ah yes. My dad always called that problem "having champagne ideas on a soda pop salary." With the economy the way it is now I imagine a lot more people are having that problem.

When we bought our house, it was in desperate need of some TLC. There had been some work done at the end of the '50s (mostly to make some extra bedrooms in the attic) and at the end of the '80s, start of the '90s (kitchen built out and roof replaced, mostly).

We started with the most important updates (bathroom, which was from the '50s and floorboards which were partly rotten and eaten) and in general stripping the house till the brick outside wall. After that was done, the house was liveable, even though not all rooms were finished yet. So, early last year, we finished the bedroom (upstairs) (we moved in 2006), at the end of last year, we finished the kitchen, this summer we finished one of the two extra rooms (our "computer" rooms, we have that much space!) and as soon as we know what it'll cost, we'll have the driveway redone (we won't be able to do it ourselves).

So, still plenty of things to do, such as my room, the second part of the attic (only the bedroom there is done, 2/3 of it is still in a partial finished state), the hallway, the stairs, the hallway in the back of the house, the utility room... We'll be able to have plans until the day we die, most likely

It's bad times when one must eat their floorboards!

Seriously though, sounds like you've done a lot of improvement work on it. Best I can say is that I finished the basement and added a bathroom. Otherwise not much in the 7 years I've been here, the landscaping/flowers have suffered the worst because I don't much care for gardening.

Our garden is mostly grass... If it doesn't survive on its own, it won't survive at all

The only thing I do in the garden is mowing the grass, and picking the fruit whenever that's ready to be picked.

So, when we're old, it'll still be easy to maintain. We'll buy a sit mower and even the mowing will be easy then! (simply transfer from your chair to the mower

)
