Hmmm... try the non-logical way; use double the tea and twice the steep length. The worst that happens is you make a bad cup of tea. But if it works, you've got your answer! Stitchawl |

So, if I can't get loose tea, or I'm lazy or in a bind, what are some suggestions for a decent bagged tea for emergencies?

One cup has some brand of coffee. I'm not sure, it's just the stuff that they put in the break-room. It's not too bad.
In the other one...some "Super Irish Breakfast" black tea, by Stash. |

what do one expects from a first kiss in a sentimental contest? Astra is right. Just let it flow. The expectations and implications depend on the cultural contest. For instance Americans out on a date used to expect something like a kiss in saying good bye. Maybe they still do. I know nothing about this as I grew up in a different contest, maybe Prof or Stitch might say more about it. With me it was on a bus coming back from a day tour with the school. We had gone to the sea, and she had her hair still wet. She sat near me, I am sure it was pure chance, and I helped to dry her hair. It was my first and her first. We had never spoken before, but we knew by sight, because we were both on the track team. She was younger. We kissed and then continued kissing for hours, quite absorbed, till we arrived back in Milano. Her parents were waiting for her so she went. The day after I waited for her class to get out and we started all over on a bench in a park, after school. Romantic? I do not think so. But very very pleasant. We never talked, we did nothing except walking hand in hand to the nearest bench, far enough from her house, and just kissed. We even went to see a movie one Saturday afternoon, in the gallery, necking all the time. She was really a fine little girl and she enjoyed it as much as I did. She was not ready for anything more, with me at least, and I just enjoyed it the way it was. I am sure I remember how it felt, that very first kiss, as I still remember many things of her. |

![]() Prince of Wales tea blend is a blend of China black teas typically served in the afternoon with scones in Britain. The blend was originally devised for Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII. The strong earthy scent of Edward's tea reportedly came from high grade Keemun tea from Anhui Province blended with other black teas from around China in order to produce a complex cup of tea. Prince of Wales tea is mild, but full-bodied, with a bright liquor and strong aroma. Of the black teas Keemun is my favorite. You can get it in bags or loose from Amazon. in my modest opinion the big advantage is that it does not release much tannin like other black teas, then you have to add milk, sugar or whatever, and your smile gets a little strained. Like ... just forget it. Get this one. Stay away from fancy stuff like Earl Gray or scented stuff, unless ... BTW From my days in Canada I remember that they mostly drink Ceylon Orange Pekoe in that part of the world, which is not bad at all, I mean the tea, as that part of the world I think it is the closest possible to paradise, except some nasty individuals of course. The only memories of Orange Pekoe I have is that terrible Red Rose stuff. Ick. Ick. Ick. I will have to check out the Prince of Wales option. I have had some Mighty Leaf before. I will have to check the easily available options and then the tea stores. There's at least a few.
Has any one heard of a chain called David's? Any good or is it what I'd expect from a mall and should hit up the local shop instead? |
