bah, I have nothing to blackmail mine on and they just introduced Cybook Odyssey... I will not be able to say no to that one (IF the screen is good that is) it is already calling my name. And won't be getting Kindle Touch then even if available in Europe.

My story exactly. Was never interested in any Apple gadgets, but the iPad is just right for me. With its responsive 10" screen, the iPad excels at mobile reading of technical PDFs, and allows for a lot more mobile use and fun. The 20 months that I have my iPad, my netbook and my laptop have mostly been gathering dust.

I think the Fire's market is with the people who don't want to replace their computers, but want a more portable entertainment device. My boyfriend is interested in getting one to help him get through 12 hr work shifts when there's down time. He likes that you can watch movies, read books, play some games, and get on the internet (his actual wording was "check my fantasy football team"). And the size of the screen is perfect for something like that.

yep, that's, the tablet market as I see it, + email and forums and websurfing ....
provided of course you/he has wi-fi available.

This is why I'm thinking of getting one. To read at night/bed, surf the web a little, check my email, forums. I like the 7" screen. I didn't want anything big that I would get tired of holding.
