Any screen shots of formatting options (line spacing, margins, ...)?

Thanks.

No variable line spacing and margins like other ereaders. Just font types and size. There is still the same page crop mode and multicolumn views that the X50 models have. The font sizes are much better now and so far I like the Amassis font best.

I was also able to login to my Kobo account and download a book! The library book download process also worked smoothly. They go into a downloads folder. They auto-load right into your booklist. I didn't have much time to experiment further.
Fabulous!!!

Thank you Beespeckled and Bookworm_Girl for sharing downloading info!

So how shiny is the T1, really? High-gloss? Low-gloss?

DecalGirl cannot make skins fast enough. I had reserved my opinion thinking maybe the trade show and marketing images exaggerated the shine. It is worse than I was expecting. It's not just glossy. It's like a mirror! It also shows fingerprints easily. Very frustrating. It is further compounded when you use the lighted cover because it is near impossible to find an angle where the light covers the screen and doesn't reflect in the case housing.

Get over it. You're not going to die to make a one inch movement on the screen by swiping.

No need to be rude, I'd prefer tapping. that's what I do on my iphone on Stanza. Actually, I prefer physical buttons for page turning. But there isn't really a perfect device out there, so I'm waiting to see more reviews on the new Kindles and any new Nooks before I commit to buying. Tapping vs. swiping is one of the features I look for. That's my preference.

Or maybe I just missed it.
Sony just said "You can download books". Because they weren't specific, a lot of us skeptical folk didn't want to assume it also included DRM'd books even though it hinted at it.

Well, I see a lot of rumors, but I like to see evidence to back it up. Until this last weekend, nobody had direct evidence. Now that I have one in my hands too, I see that it is Android.

I've taken a peek at the database layout on the T1 and posted some quick findings on that thread. The good news is that it is a simple SQLite DB, and while not compatible with the XML format used before, it is simple enough that it shouldn't take too long to get things up and running once someone can find the time to do the work and look at the DB schema in depth to see what they need to do. My python is rusty, so while I could do it myself, there is still the issue of time and desire. I do too much programming each day as it is!

I rely on the tags to collections as well, so I have a bit of a vested interest in seeing it work, and will try to help where I can.

I am more pleasantly surprised that it has the ability to download from other bookstore websites. I noticed when I did the library download that it was an acsm file in the notification tray. So, I thought what the heck. I'll give my Kobo library a try. That must be why the vendor who accidentally leaked the T1 details said that it would work with their bookstore. That's good news for international customers who don't have a Sony store.

Have you (or anyone else) tried downloading from B&N?

I'm curious if Sony left the Adobe software intact or if they disabled the part that opens B&N Nookbooks.

Actually, a swipe like that is better because you'll notice more fingerprints with a tap vs a swipe.

Other than the fact that they are touched more often, do the touch screen e-ink readers show fingerprints more easily? On my 505, the screen doesn't really show smudges/prints as easily as, say, my iPhone. i
