I don't wear slippers.
More geography, but less obscure. What are the longest rivers on each continent? |

Ummm...no. There are real answers. I'm willing to give it to anyone that can name a river in Australia and a river in Antarctica.

For Oz it's the Murray-Darling. I must admit I don't associate Antarctica with rivers. Glaciers, perhaps.

I can honestly say that I've NEVER heard Australian rivers spoken of! Obviously they must have them, but I guess they don't make the northern hemisphere news!
I just did a bit of research and found: Huge underground Antarctic lakes are connected by fast-flowing underground rivers that stretch for hundreds of kilometres....About 150 subglacial lakes have been discovered in Antarctica but researchers believe there could be thousands. 'Thousands' of lakes?!? I thought Antarctica was the size of a skating rink! Who knew? ![]() Stitchawl |

Okay, we're down to one. Who knows it?
Some scientists see the Murray and Darling as two separate rivers, but Murray is the longest and Darling the third. |

Okay, I'm giving it to Stitchawl who came up with most of them (albeit the easy ones), but vivaldirules is getting the karma since the guess of Opus made me laugh and was actually pretty close to the right answer. Same first letter and number of letters.
Antarctica's longest river is the Onyx River which apparently flows some 30km. Although from photos I looked at it really is just like a braided glacial stream more than a river to me. Take it away Stitchawl. |

O.K.... question: The mineral known as Noviculite (Arkansas Stone) is commonly used today for good quality sharpening stones, and is available at most sporting goods stores. But 'early man' used Noviculite for TWO very important functions in daily life. Name these two functions. Stitchawl |
