I don't really need a fancy cover just something for $20. I read without one. I just need something to protect it, when it's not in use. I paid $70 for the K3's lighted one and I never use it much. I read somewhere that a Kobo Touch cover will work? They are supposedly the same size?

Blossom,

Now that you mention covers, I wonder if new Kindle prices will also affect theirs. Paying 50+ for a cover when the Kindle is about 80 bucks only, makes no sense to me.

Agreed. There's a nice Kobo Touch one on Ebay here. I wonder if it would work?

Their Kindle Touch Lighted Leather Cove is currently listed at $60.00, so..... *shrug*

Personally, I'm not that crazy about the cover and I dislike the very limited colors. I know for a fact that I would not dish $59.99 for the 4 they have listed there. Maybe if they had a lovely blue or pretty red, I might reconsider but only because I really like the light.

Regardless of colors, I hope this isn't the only style they're going to offer.

I've got the K3 lighted Amazon cover and I paid $59.99 for it too. It's okay style wise, but it is heavy. I think it more than doubles the weight of the K3 when reading with it in the cover! Unfortunately these super-thin readers are difficult for me to hold. If they were at least 1/2 inch thick I could probably read without a cover.

Argh...I ordered a K4 SO and a timbuk2 case, and requested ship as one shipment (I'm shipping to a postal service in US and they charge per shipment). But it looks like they separated my order into 2 orders...

I also have the lighted case for the K3, which I bought after selling my non-lighted case to one of my hubby's coworkers. I agree that the case does make the K3 heavier, but I like the look of it. I do not like the look of the K4 case (except for the light), so to me it does not seem worth the $59.99.

I wonder if the two items are shipping from different locations or even by different suppliers? I've bought stuff on Amazon that ships directly from another supplier rather than an Amazon warehouse.

Do you have a link to the cover you bought? I want to take a look as they haven't shipped my cover yet and I might like the other one better.

I also have the lighted cover for the K3 and there is no way I would pay that much for a cover again with a reader that costs less then $189 I paid for my K3. I was also surprised of the added weight but it really does protect well when traveling.

Although, my husband and I have both been seen carrying a paper book & our Kindles at the same time, our home library is nowhere as extensive as the rest of his family's.
My hubby hates to read. I was shocked when he read the first 5 Harry Potter books. Nothing since then though. I tried to get him to read on the Kindle but it's was a waste of time when he could be gaming or watching a movie.

He doesn't support my reading habit so I wont complain too much. I've sent him to B&N or WalMart to buy romances before when they weren't on ebook.

Its good that he'll go out and get it, even if it might make him grumble a little.

Going to the book store is a family deal. We let the kids pick out books on their own. Our only real limitation is "No Toys!" Although I understand tie-ins, having toys mixed in with the books drives me nuts! The kids get separate, specific trips to the toy store, where as the bookstore is a little more frequent and spontaneous.
I find that I still like roaming the bookstore even though most of my purchases are now e-books. Hubby especially likes used book stores, because the low prices lets him act like a kid in a candy store!

Buy an iPad for games. The two complement each other perfectly.

Hmmm. Last time I checked, I'm the one that paid for it, so if I want to spend a few moments playing a game on my Kindle, that's entirely my right.

Thanks for your concern though.

Our Book Stores is B&N & Books A Million other then a Walmart and, Kmart and Target. So I seldom go anymore. B&N paperbacks are really high compared to the 7.99 standard price I can get anywhere else. They are marked up to $9.99 mostly. I don't understand how they can get away with that. The price printed on the back of the book even says it. If I go to BAM across the street is says 7.99 printed on the back. B&N must have their books specially printed for them. . Our tax is 9.89% so there is no way I am paying extra. I'll just get the ebook.

No wonder I love my Kindle and Amazon ebooks!

I looked at the Kobo Touch and Kindle NT are the exact same size only the Kindle seems to be thinner.

Kobo Touch: 6.5" x 4.5" x 0.4
Kindle NT: 6.5" x 4.5" x 0.34

So if you can find a cheap case for the Kobo Touch it should fit the Kindle NT. I am already bidding on one. We will see if I win.

Really!?! I haven't seen that here. I've seen some for $8.99 but not higher than that. We like BAM as well, but unfortunately it is a bit out of the way.

Yep all Romance books that I can get in Mass Market for 6.99 & 7.99 are 9.99 and 8.99 at the local B&N. I walked in there last year to check out the Nook. There was some lady chatting up the Nook Guy and would not move for nothing so I bought a Kindle 3.
That was my last visit because of the change. Send a email to B&N telling then how I did not like the change.

Now I send hubby on his way to work and pay through the website to get normal price.
