Need Help with Sony PRS-505

Let me begin by stating that I am a "computer idiot", but I am really good at following directions.

I recently got the new Sony PRS-505 as a gift.

Is there anyway (remember...need directions) to convert DRM ebook formats to format that I can use on the Sony reader?

I have several Adobe DRM and Mobipocket DRM books that I would like to use on my Sony.

Welcome to MobileRead, Clueless!

Unfortunately, Forum Policy precludes us giving you directions for breaking DRM.

And there's not really any way to break the Adobe DRM in any case.

Hi Clueless, (great moniker)
Discussing how to break DRM is against the forum. So I'll quote some helpful quote "google 'MobieDeDRM' and from here you are on your own"

Now as for getting PDFs and Mobi books on your PRS-505. This I can help

There are two tools out there that work great for converting those files tor LRF (a SONY format supported by PRS-505)

For PDFs I recommend PDFLRF this is a great tool that really makes PDF readable on you SONY. do a search on this site(top right corner) and you will see the tread where you can download the app, and get instructions on how to use that tool. The only downfall of this tool is that it turns the text in the PDF to images so it can manipulate them, so the result is a much larger file than

For Mobipocket books there is an EXCELLENT! program called libprs500. This tool is way better than the default software provided by SONY. It converts almost any document to LRF. The software is very easy to use and quite intuitive, so I wont post a how to. However if after you install the app you feel you need further assistance please feel free to post for more help.

To get an unsecured Mobi file I recommend you visits sites like

http://www.manybooks.net

Happy readings,
