The DRM is still there but I have help for that so its only temporary. I set it up once and never have to touch it again, unless I get a new Kindle of course. |

Isn't that the same for any e-book though. Meaning that you would have to download an e-book or PDF reader of some sort to read on your PC, except when reading directly from the author's web page?

Well, with other vendors I use I have the option of using their desktop software OR using ADE OR using Calibre (this, of course, doesn't include using Stanza cause that's just on my phone). I'm not limited just to their software.

Thanks to the previously mentioned help, I can also read my books through Calibre, but I really don't like reading on my PC at all. Too much strain on the eyes for long term sessions. |

Then I go to pdf, doc, or txt, epub, mobi and all the rest. I have several computer screens but the one I much prefer is a large Sony Trinitron. I have never gotten a headache reading it. In fact I should probably pick up a refurbished one just for a spare, because I think they stopped making new ones. Too expensive. |

Over the years, I have used 17", 19" and 21" Sony Ts for Autocad and for reading. ![]() My desk at home has the monitor stand reinforced in order to carry the weight of the one I am using there. I saw that place you were talking about. Thanks again. |
