It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
You taught me all I know and I'll never look back
It's a very strange world and I thank you, Master Jack

You took a colored ribbon from out of the sky
And taught me how to use it as the years went by
To tie up all your problems and make them look neat
And then to sell them to the people in the street

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
You taught me all I know and I'll never look back
It's a very strange world and I thank you, Master Jack

What a wonderfully strange world we live in... I'm glad that I don't understand it. I don't think it would be half so interesting!

Good morning, everyone! Over the hump and sliding down the work week to the weekend... well... for those who work a Monday to Friday work week anyway. I did a lot of image processing yesterday after I got back from my ride, and am pleased to say I got some wonderful photos. I think the customer will be satisfied. Even got some shots of rather uncommon fishies with the guests!

Breakfast today begins with a mug of Taylors of Harrowgate's "Yorkshire" tea, as I contemplate poor Astra having to do without during his fast. I'll bet right about now, the grumbling in his stomach is asking 'why do they call it a fast if it goes so slowly?!?' What a strange world!

Mint tea. Time for bed... I've got so many great books on the go that I don't know which one to read before bed! Perhaps a library book - after all, they have a time limit... hmmm...

I have such a high, wobbly tower of p-books on my night table (books that I couldn't find as ebooks, naturally!) that I'm afraid that it might topple over and hit me in the head while I'm sleeping!

Is it possible it's your clothing style?

An afternoon mug of unbranded Keemun tea...

Definitely NOT! My usual attire, as you would know if you peeked into the "what is in your wardrobe" thread, is jeans and tshirts, sans ruffles.

Not even a pink 'Hello Kitty?' Wanna laugh? Here in Japan, Disney markets to the 21-35 female demographic; T-shirts, Sweats, Mobile phone decoration, handbags, etc., rather than the 6-12 year olds. You're more likely to see a young married woman wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt than a pre-teen!

This sounds extremely sophisticated. I can just imagine myself, in a english manor, in the library with a big fire in the chimney and a golden retriever....

The same here. I feel like a squirrel, having taken care of my winter reserve, and not being able to decide which nut to pick first...

Ok, I don't have a Hello Kitty T because how ridiculous would I like next to petite princesse who is out of that phase and into Monster High (all black but still cute) right now ? I think next comes the full gothic phase (all black and NOT cute) ....
I do though own and wear lots of "mini" Ts (mini, the ex-Rover ex-austin ex-british leyland, you-name-it-we-have-it, car), which are very cute and also collectors from my time working for that brand.

Back on topic : I just finished cooking all by myself a grand risotto alla fungaiola, without the wine though because I did not have any, and am drinking now a coke zero and waiting for Superman to arrive (today without his cape and tights )

Coke Zero #2.

I came across a joke that's apropriate to this thread:

Why do anarchists only drink rooibos?
Spoiler:
Because proper tea is theft.

I don't get it.
I thunk and I thunk and I thunk... and I still don't get it.

I'm going to pour myself a small glass of rum and drown my sorrows... or at least, moisten them.
Shouldn't drink too much... I still have a few more photos to correct.

Perhaps this link will help, if you're puzzled why anarchists in particular like Rooibos (& other herbals, come to that).

But if you don't get the joke at all, I'll be explicit:
Spoiler:
"Proper Tea is Theft" is a pun on "Property is Theft", a phrase coined by French anarchist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon in the mid 1800s. Obviously, since even anarchists disapprove of theft, they would only drink herbal infusions, like Rooibos, not true (proper) tea made from Camellia sinensis, the tea plant.

In SPOILER tags because, of course, explaining a joke certainly spoils it!

Thank god I was not the only one.

Matevana Latte while relaxing at home with the puppies. I thought about going to the grocery store to get the stuff to make bread in my new bread maker and ice cream but decided that getting dresses is highly over rated.

I feel a bit silly now. Perhaps the phrase is less well known elsewhere.
