My wishlist included a high resolution eInk screen like the IRiver Story, so I'm disappointed about that. Yes, Nook Touch has physical page turn buttons, but they are a little hard to press, even after many hours of 'training'. Press has to be firm and accurate, and requires a little more focus than I would like sometimes. So I end up using taps and swipes a lot.

I was hoping for more resolution also. Target.com apparently was selling the I river Story HD for $99 but it is out of stock, and the nearby store didn't have any either. I suspect they are having production issues. Amazon can't afford that kind of problem, so we'll have to wait for future developments it seems.

I think we can expect that the DX will get a new touch version without the keyboard. I'm waiting eagerly because the current Kindle DX has already been surpassed by the hardware on the 3rd generation 6 inch models.

I just got a DX last week but I think I'm going to return it and wait.

Any rumors about when a new DX will come out?

Looks that way but they have improve the interface a bit like dictionary window and a new feature called Xray on the Touch not the Non-Touch though, it looks the same.

Amazon will only allow a very small subset of available Android applications for Kindle, and not any ones that would compete with their ability to sell you content through there store.

But because it is Android based, it will most likely get rooted and you would be able to install whatever you like.

Oh, and just FYI, you can buy books directly in Aldiko, it has a "native" feel to browse feedbooks, smashwords and other sites, and a built-in web browser to complete purchase.

Do you have anything to back that up at the moment? Amazon Kindle Fire will support the Amazon App store. The Amazon App store includes Aldiko and Kobo. Amazon have not removed those applications even though the Fire was announced, so I suspect Amazon might take the high ground on this one...

Also, why "very small"? Smaller than the existing selection of Amazon App, or do you mean limited by the developers that choose to utilize the Amazon App store?

Yep, still on Pearl; but the processor is a bit faster. I'm upgrading my KSO to a KSOT because I want touch.

I say this as a first-generation DX owner... I really get the sense that the DX has reached its end. The DX Graphite has been seriously neglected when it comes to updates (due in part to having less system memory than the Kindle 3)--it's been the red-headed stepchild for quite a while now.

I have seen absolutely no rumors regarding a new version of the DX. With the tablet line making its debut... I think the Fire is pushing the DX under the bus.

Current KSO will be made available for guests to use. Even if it doesn't get used for reading, I still plan on using it for the offers.
