Unless the person in those pics of the non-touch has giant hands, that device is way too small for me to hold comfortably. The K2 has perfect dimensions, the K3 is a little small-ish for me (there's one in the house that I can use at will ), but that thing looks absolutely tiny!

Why can't they continue to make an ogre model? For us ogres?

Dang, I'd have preferred a touch version with the side buttons. That's what I was really hoping for.

This...I probably would buy the touch if it had side buttons. As is, still trying to decide between the $79 non-touch or the $99 keyboard.

YES! That's what most readers do, read fiction. If your needs are different, choose another model. There are lots to choose from.

Not sure about Google Market-I don't think Amazon even mentioned Google much beyond "Gmail" support.

Same here. I'm not much for touch, but if it at least had the page turn buttons, I'd consider it. I mean, the choice between onscreen touch keyboard input and onscreen 5-way controlled keyboard input is a no-brainer for me. But unfortunately, both devices have deficiencies that are deal-breakers for me.

That's exactly my position, too. A touch with page turn buttons would have been significantly better. Luckily it appears that the "old" Kindles are going to continue to be available for the foreseeable future.

Where's the innovation? All I see is a bunch of copies of devices already existing on the market. I was hoping for something interesting like e-ink color display.

The only thing that caught my interest was the browser in the Kindle Fire:
