I have returned to Moon Reader until this feature is implemented in Mantano. It is that important to me. |

Well if they do implament it, then I hope that is an option that can be turned off as I much prefer to have the full-screen experience that we have now and for me to tap the screen to see the info.

I'm with the previous poster in re the title bar. I read with full screen and like having the title bar up there to keep track of the time, page and battery %. I make the title bar font color slightly less visible than my main reading font color and can't tell you how many times I look up there while reading. Last edited by Eskarina; 09-28-2011 at 06:27 PM. I like the trial version of this app very much - it is one of the few that seems to use the CSS style-sheets in a book - properly! I have a few minor issues with it on my phone and a tablet I'm evaluating for work, but will report these via the support site.

CSS isn't high up for me, as I use calibre to reformat the way I need it to.
And yes, the status bar is very important. In fact I read about 20% of my current book in Mantano, and when I went back to MR, I was so relieved to see how far I was in the chapter while reading (eg. should I start the next chapter since it's only 15 pages, or no way if 40 pages). If CR would support the chapter page #, it would be my default. Font rendering is what drew me to Mantano. In the last 2 days, I went through about 30-40 fonts before finally settling on a Georgia variant, Bienetresocial. It comes close to the Mantano default for now. |

I was referring to publisher defaults. I use calibre for tweaks when I want to. Sometimes it's not convenient for me to do, perhaps I'm away from my computer for an extended period of time. I simply want to view publisher defaults on occasion. With Moon+ I find that I need to adjust stuff for individual books to make it visually appealing and less like a text document. It's just a personal preference.

I do believe the default font for Mantano is Droids Serif. Which is a google font. |

I biggest reason I use Mantano, as silly as it may sound, is the consistent page numbers due to the Adobe DRM epub support (I assume). Unless something has changed in the last 30-60 days, the programs without Adobe DRM support do NOT have page numbering between different devices.
For example, in Mantano (and Aldiko), I get the same page number no matter what device I am on. So when I am on my phone on page 65 of a book on my phone, I can switch to my tablet and go to page 65. Both devices will report the same number of total pages for each book. With Cool Reader, Moon+, etc..instead of page numbers you have "screen pages". So on my phone Book A might be 9000 pages, where on my tablet it might be 3000 pages...making it much more difficult to swith devices. I figure if I can't have whispersync, at least I can use an app that uses a consistent page numbering system. |

@ Joseph
Thank you for taking the time to make such a detailed reply. I have been waiting for the next release, as many of the requested features on your support desk will address many of the points I brought up. With your additional info, it sounds wonderful ![]() As for the book covers, I've not been able to update them in the current release. The column zoom does indeed work -- this is my bad, I had tried it with a PDF that I've been having trouble with and it didn't work. I hadn't thought to try it on another PDF. I just now tried it again on a few other articles, and it works fine. As for the other dictionaries I have, I have mistakenly left the impression that I have a number of other dictionaries on my tablet. I do have colordict and the free version of Merriam-Websters, and a couple of the embedded dictionaries available in Mantano. I have several dictionaries, mostly in mobipocket format, on my laptop/desktop, but I haven't transferred these dictionaries over to the tablet. To my knowledge, there is no android reader that can integrate mobipocket dictionaries, or even handle them as a dictionary and use the word indexing. I'm willing to buy replacements in another format, but only if a dictionary interface is at least somewhat standardized for interaction within an application. I don't see this as a specific Mantano Reader issue. The default language problem I have since dug into this a bit and found it is a problem with the books themselves. They have the value set to something that I presume isn't included in what Mantano x-refs for the language. These are limited to only a few books, a few from the forums here and some bought from Baen Webscriptions. The values were 'US English (en-us), 'UND', 'undefined', and '_'. I'll fix the books and readd them to the Mantano Reader. I only stumbled upon this in the first place because I was playing around with TTS. Again, thanks for your reply, and I'm looking forward to the next release. Regards, Peake |
