My Kindle just updated to 3.3 - Page 7

yeah I'm confused, when they released 3.1 it was available as a beta release for weeks before the roll out. then it was announced and available on the website for everyone. 3.3 seems to be only getting pushed to very few people..

Kindle 3g (Germany): I have 3.1

3.2.1 is the firmware for the KSO model, it's the same as 3.1 only difference is the addition of the ads.

It's my understanding that they also have been shipping newer non-KSO Kindles with 3.2.1. Can anyone confirm that?

It's odd that Amazon has never offered 3.2.1 on their website, and now some people who said they had 3.1 are getting this new 3.3 update pushed to their Kindle. Why are they still showing 3.1 as the latest version on their website? Did these people really have 3.1, or did they actually have 3.2.1 before?

One of my friends bought a kindle last week, without ads, and it had 3.2.1

yes I got a replacement for my non KSO wifi kindle and it has 3.2.1 on it, I assume once the next firmware version comes out the KSO and non KSO will be in sync version number wise

It's starting to make me suspicious. Could it have something to with DRM or "Tools" or maybe more privacy invasion? Anyone with 3.3 notice anything at all with the new update? Like maybe an updated browser that opens new windows or any new options at all? It just gets stranger by the moment.

I have been wondering too if there may be a browser enhancement in this 3.3 update that would allow new windows to open, which would be helpful with Kindle's new library lending capability.

Is there anyone with version 3.3 that could test to see if the Kindle browser can now open a new window? Can anyone in the U.S. with version 3.3 complete library book borrowing (from ordering to book delivery) via the Kindle browser, for example?

Ditto here. Only difference I could see b/t 3.1 and 3.2.1 was they broke they jailbreak.

Thanks to DumbledoreMD, Ron, and Barty for confirming that 3.2.1 has been shipping on both KSO and newer non-ad Kindles. I thought I'd read that somewhere, but I wasn't sure.

The v3.3 firmware activates the mic and NSA i.g.p.s tracking chip. If your kindle has the updated that means your a "person of interest" and might just see yourself in a CIA blacksite in the near future. Sorry.
