I've reached the point where I can't live without my Xoom
Or some form of tablet....
![]() I find I'm using it anywhere from 1 to 4 hours a day for email, web browsing and reading. ![]() How about you? |

Tablet, no, but smartphone, yes, absolutely. I'd be absolutely lost without my iPhone - my whole life is on it

Hey Kenny, glad to hear the Moto Xoom is still doing you fine, I can care less about thin, I still think the xoom is one of the best pieces of hardware on the market, it just feels very high end.

I only wish that sound via bluetooth didn't kill lip sync. Headphones or cable to speakers are unpleasant, and the built in speakers are not enough. But that's not a biggie. I use a Logitech Z515 with a cable when watching movies. And I use VNC from my Xoom to control my Linux PC. And my Squeezeboxes. Last edited by Adoby; 09-26-2011 at 01:08 AM. |

My phone I can live without, without any doubt. I often forget that I even have one... But can I live without a tablet? Yes, as long as I have any other device with me that can read books...

I don't have the Xoom, but I am lovin’ my Acer Iconia A500 which is similar. I use it for about eight hours daily mainly for ebooks, some email/facebook, and the occasional movie. I think it has some kind of prototype nuclear power cell because it still has about 20% battery at the end of the day!

Totally agree aqbout the tablet.
Mines a Galaxy Tab (original 7 inch) carry it with me everywhere I go. Can get it to do just about everything on it, even some of my work. |

I can live perfectly without my tablet. As long as I have one of my other ebook readers with me... Internet isn't very important, and only a nice-to-have (which is why I have Wifi-only). And I found out it can't even play movies from our NAS! (no .TS support...) And I still haven't found the perfect reading software yet, so my tablet reading isn't optimal either.
Having said that, I couldn't live without my gadgets, though ![]() |

For a second there I thought I was stuck in a parallel world of the "Mystery Science board" where I was forced to read cheesy romance lines across the internet.
I'm glad it's just the usaual crazy talk of how we've fallen in love with our gadgets. I have to agree with Henry I still find my smartphone to be a the one necessity. My memory is so bad and all of my notes, schedules, task lists, etc. is on the device. I actually feel some trepidations when I leave my phone at home. If NFC takes off, I feel the dependency will get much worse. =X= |

Your memory is so bad because you always use your phone, instead of actually remembering! I always was very good at remembering phone numbers, but now, with the phonebooks integrated into your phone, I simply can't remember them anymore...
