Read back at page 99 that prsp.sh is not being run and a method of installing fonts using installer.sh is offered by Frank, with a script modified by Kartu to install the fonts in /tmp/FONT. I've tried this method with prs+2.0.14beta, to no avail. I've directed the install.log to /Data but there is nothing left behind.

Frank has clearly had success with this method. Can anybody suggest what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Tony

p.s. what should the random image option do on the standby option page? At the moment I have one 600*800 image in IM, but the screen blanks on sleep.

Is there a FAQ for this, other than the Wiki on Project Home?

Just installed it on my 650, should have done it ages ago, wow.

Apologies if this is covered in a faq or elsewhere, I did look, but...

I use Trebuchet MS font on all my books, all of which are LRF. Ideally, the perfect display size for me would be slightly bigger than default Medium, but not as large as default Large. I've tried messing with the LRF Text Scale, rebooted as indicated, but it doesn't seem to have an effect. Is this possibly related to the fact I'm not using the default Reader font?

Also, am I correct in thinking that the scale is thus; XS=50, S=100, M=150, L=200, XL=250, XXL=300? Presumably, my ideal size would be around 170.

Again, apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I'll happily figure it out for myself if someone hit me up with a link.

If you mess with the font settings on a ePub book you actually have to open a second book then come back to the one you expect to see the changes in. I don't know if lrf works the same way but it can't hurt to give it a try.

Thanks. That may have done it! Either that, or I'd got the scale all wrong - 130 seems to be about the size I was looking for. Perfect.

Smaller than the screen. This is called fit to screen.

I think you mean "stretch to screen". It ignores the original shape which is a bit different than simply resizing to fit the screen.

Because all my covers preserve the aspect ratio, it winds up with extra space that doesn't need to be there because the cover gets rendered into a 3:4 box and stretched. That may look okay if you don't preserve the aspect ratio, but it looks utterly goofy on covers that are already tall.

Thanks for the info.

In that case I hope that "stretch to screen" remains an option. It is the default in calibre's conversion of books to ePub.

Hmm, changing the LRF Text Scale appears to lose the bottom couple of lines on each page (LRF). Does this happen with epub, or do I have to change the bottom margin size (is that the correct term?) at the Calibre stage?

You shouldn't have to change margins, but again try opening another book and going back to the original book. Hopefully someone more versed will step in with actual experience.

Of course, margin changing wouldn't make any difference!

/slaps head

My experience of calibre is strictly limited to format and font conversion.

Edit: Solved it via this link;

http://code.google.com/p/prs-plus/issues/detail?id=153

Basically, LRF Text Scaling doesn't repage the book so you need to delete all notes, delete all books, then copy them back onto the Reader so it opens and repaginates them fresh. Et voila.

Regarding LRF text scale it only affects books that weren't pre formatted at the moment you change it. Moving books to a different folder or messing with cache.xml manually would do the trick.

prsp.sh not being run was fixed a while ago.

The post you link to is 10 months old and the problem discussed was correct that very day according to the bug report linked to in the post. Why would you think it had any relevance today.

Because when I try to map fonts using psrp.sh nothing happens, I can't fathom what the problem is, when I look at the top of this thread there is a link to the project which in turn links to the post I indicated suggesting an alternative method for mapping fonts via installer.sh and because the installer.sh method doesn't seem to be working either. I've sought help in identifying my error trying both methods but the only response I've had so far is your criticism for following the forum's suggestions.

Thank you.

Thanks Kartu, I am correct in believing, therefore, that scripts must start all references to IM with /Data in the path, yes?
