I am quite sure it's been said before, but I would REALLY like it if I could sort my library into *finished/read, *not read, *genre, *borrowed (from library that has limited days on readability)

I am an avid reader - can knock out a an average length book in under 2 hours - closer to an hour for most, actually. It's really challenging to find a book in my library - which really only has a couple hundred books in it. I am able to get up to 20 books at a time from my library online service and right now, in order to find them, I have to make them the shortlist. and then remember to remove them from shortlist when I read them until I dock the reader to my computer to 'return' the borrowed materials, as I generally finish them long before the 7 day rental (shortest available rental at this time).

I just adore my KT ereader, though. I just really think it could be phenomenal if it was possible to find books in the library more efficiently.

Now I'm thinking, why not integrate it into the dictionary lookup too? It has happend that a term was defined with an unknown term.

So true! For some(holding eys shut smiley not found), rendering HTML(or files very similar), is a challenge.

The standard is OLD(but it aint gonna go)! If it's allready overly complex, I gotta disappoint you. It's just gonna get more "complex" as features are added.

However this refers to a firmware request. The one to a future searching function. Searching files, basically, text files, which is kinda what HTML is, is not a challenge at all.

ps: if you really need to, put "XHTML" or "XML" wherever EricDP, or I, put HTML, go ahead. Make's no diff.

There are differences between HTML, XHTML and XML. (The files in an EPUB which contain the actual contents of the book should be XHTML.) In terms of implementing the search function, almost certainly no difference (because it's effectively searching a subset of text contained within certain, non-varying tags).

Otherwise, big difference.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but being able to search for words/phrases in a book would be useful. This would be really convenient for reading on PC and then being able to search for words in a book on the Kobo so you can read from there. It would save a few minute trying to find where you are up to

edit: it has been mentioned on the first page :P I hope it's in future updates!

I'm a university student and I've recently discovered that the Kobo Touch cannot connect to WPA Enterprise networks. Would it be possible to add this feature into the firmware or would it be limited by the wireless card in the KT? If it could be added that would be great.

So cool! That's exactly IT!

Forget "REAL" page numbers! Whether they be "REAL-ADEKobo", "REAL-Mobi", "REAL-epub" page numbers, it makes no dif, FORGET IT. These things just don't exist.

Just type in a short phrase, search, and you are where you want to be. I've been doing it for years. Works both ways(PC-eReader, or back).

OK!

Sorry, they will not let me post a three letter reply, so:
OK! Your furure firmware request being? Perhaps, "Searching"?
No worries, I'm on it. When I get what I want, you'll get what you need.

I don't know if this has come up before (too many pages to read them all), but being able to sort the library into "folders", eg Classics, SF/Fantasy, Mysteries, Other Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, and then alphabetical order by author or title within each folder.

(Previously posted on a similar Kobo thread not specific to the Touch.)

This would actually be easy. But then it's not. The Kobo is a proprietary divice.

For KOBO(or Amazon, B&N, Sony, etc) it isn't about the ebooks you HAVE.

It's all about the eBooks they want to sell to you in the future.

I would very much like to see own separate buttons for "Define" and "Translate" on the bottom of the screen, instead of the clumsy menu introduced with 1.9.10 which requires 1 extra click and actually is annoyingly slow for looking up a word quickly.

I experience the same issue, it appeared with 1.9.10. I'm getting a lot of misses because of that.

Same here. I thought it might be a calibration issue... not anymore.

It's a small thing, but I've noticed that sometimes when I touch the screen on the right third, the page doesn't turn. If I swipe to turn the page after that, it goes two pages. However, if I tap it a second time, it will only go one page.

I've noticed this in (can't remember before or not) 1.9.10.
