I could have gotten a much better price!

It depends; In my area, Borders ran out of Touches a couple weeks ago I barely snagged a white one, but am debating whether to resell it and bide my time for a black one later. Breaking even overall seems tricky.

I was in Borders yesterday and snagged one. It was $90.99 and if you bought 8 items you got an additional 15% off.

My only concern is that they wanted my info for warranty purposes. What if I give it away or sell it? Anybody know? I don't really want it for me as I love my Sonys to pieces but I couldn't really pass it up for that money. It worked out to roughly $77 + tax.

My first Kobo wifi was white. Best thing about white over black when I'm looking for it much easier to see white kobo in my house.

Update to my original message. I purchased a Kobo Touch from Swindon Books in Hong Kong last week and it arrived in Brisbane, AU, today.

Basically, if you are willing to pay the extra $$$ they seem to be a reliable source for an Aussie to purchase this product. Make sure to email them too and let them know you are placing an overseas order because they also charge international shipping.

I went with them rather than ebay simply out of personal preference. None of the listed US or CA stores that I tried would ship to AU. It was a birthday present for my kid so I didn't want to mess around too much.

Looking forward to being able to buy them over the counter in Oz later this year!

BTW: I own a Sony PRS-950, and the Kobo Touch looks like an excellent alternative for the budget buyer.

Things seem to have gone very quiet on the Australia Kobo sales - makes me suspicious that the proposed sales source in Australia is not going to happen any time soon (especially as it was supposed to happen in September).
Kobo - why don't you either allow purchases from USA or Canada or sort this out? Otherwise the market will disappear as other ebook readers move in on the sales.

I just ordered 3 6-ft cables for just under $5 including shipping. Pretty good prices for sure even though shipping is slightly more then the cables.

Do it MorganM - if it works for you I may buy another one for my son as a Christmas present. I'm just a bit wary of buying from a company that is going out of business, especially getting it shipped internationally, if anything goes wrong it's probably goodbye $.....

I thought they had stopped shipping outside the US anyway.

I just tried to order one. It didn't work - my credit card was rejected. Tried 2 cards, neither worked, both registered in NZ.
