I get one DVD at a time and unlimited streaming. I don't plan on changing or closing my account.

My response to Reed:

The explanation is worse than the price increase. DE-integrating the websites? Now I can't see if a title is available for DVD delivery or streaming without checking two different websites? Why on Earth would you de-value your service this way? Why are you intent on making this HARDER for customers?
For goodness sake, even totally differently companies can integrate their websites when they create partnerships, why would you INTENTIONALLY screw your system up for us like this.
Your content catalog is now the one and only thing keeping me a customer. When you get a viable competitor, and you will, I'm gone.

I cancelled the DVD service and just use the streaming service now.

I'm an Amazon Prime member, but I haven't watched any movies through their service, because I found their interface rather convoluted, and Netflix was much easier. However, with price increases maybe I'll give Amazon a second look.

That's just the point I made in post #34. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=34

It was arrogant the way they went about it without some sort of explanation. Now months later after receiving a lot of heat from customers and a lot of cancellations they decide to apologize and explain.

I just got this in my inbox from Netflix:
-----
It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster.

While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

We're constantly improving our streaming selection. We've recently added hundreds of movies from Paramount, Sony, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, MGM and Miramax. Plus, in the last couple of weeks alone, we've added over 3,500 TV episodes from ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, USA, E!, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TLC, SyFy, A&E, History, and PBS.

We value you as a member, and we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get your movies & TV shows.

Respectfully,

The Netflix Team

Yea! It's like they read my post above and listened to me!
What a rush of empowerment. :-)

Qwikster is dead. Long live Netflix.

They made serious mistakes, and they realized that now. I believe those changes are just the consequence of some cash flow issues that they were experiencing long time ago.

Maybe the Amazon prime subscription plus the boom of Hulu, put Netflix on a different state of mind and they are reverting or changing some of those decisions they took before.

I cancelled the DVD service 2 or 3 months ago, but if I don't see new streaming selections in 6 months or so, I will cancel the whole service altogether and find other company that fits my needs.
