How great!! It really works well on my device, too!
I think Mackx's patches draw out the potential strength of DR1000S to the maximum. For me, this version is the most impressive, which added much value to DR1000S.
I'd like to enjoy the new experience on my device with this version of Mackx's patch for enough time from now on..
Thank you, Mackx!

Release 0.12

NOTE: THE BINARIES ARE ONLY FOR DR1000 with the latest R2.0beta firmware!!!

NOTE: A new view is added on the Desktop so press OK when asked: "Do you want to install the schemas for the new Views?" This procedure takes some time, just BE PATIENT and wait for the "Press ok to reboot" dialog.

This version adds (see also \Programs\_mackxpatch\readme.txt):
- Only update clock on page change when notepad is active, this should fix the problem with the vanished scribbled in notepad
- Add new functions to tag-filter '(A or B) and (C or D)', '(A and B) or (C and D)' to create more complex filters
- A Copy-button to save a file filter as a Shortcut.
- A new view to see all saved file filters and allow selection of the saved filters by clicking on the shortcut-icon.
- Add filename in property dialog.
- Fix title for Settings - Top Led.
- Updated documentation.

OPEN ISSUES:
-

So, my standard disclaimer: This is also a big hack, only very limited tested by me and less mature then 'normal', so my advise is to use it on the QEMU first. (Only the dare-devils should install it on their DR1000. :-)

The new features are getting more complicated and my explanation skills are not that good, so feel free to ask questions here (after reading the UserManual ).

In the Bitbucket-repository: https://bitbucket.org/mackx/dr1000-hackx/overview the source code can be found.

Any comments or improvements appreciated.

Marcel.

(The patch also includes the changes from all previous patches. See _mackxpatch/Help/MackxPatch User Manual.pdf for installation instructions)

Thank you very much for the new update!!
I download it now..!

ps. Thanks to the top led setting, finally I could remove my top led cover - it brought more convenience.
(I'll post the review here again later after I do enough experience..)

I have installed version 0.12 and apparently works well.

Some days ago, while using version 0.11, I noticed that sometimes the menu shows "Remove bookmark" instead of "Add bookmark" in a page without bookmark, or even in a file (a PDF document) without bookmarks. I don't know in what conditions it occurs. I don't think it has to do with the patch, but with the original firmware. Anyway, Marcel must know that point.

Thanks a lot for the hack, Marcel! Great work!

The code to add the Add/Remove bookmark must be in the uds (the document viewer from iRex) for which no code is published. So I can not change/fix anything there.

Filter for bookmarked or scribbled files

I wonder if there is a way to select files that have been bookmarked or scribbled in a filter. This may be a question about existing features that I don't know well, or a suggestion about new features.

Thanks

I've been thinking about the same thing. I was thinking of creating a new tag (i.e. "scribbled" or "bookmarked") for this and then having the DR automatically add this tag to a book when appropriate (perhaps on closing a book). I haven't come around to implementing it yet though and don't think I'll do it in the near future.

I was thinking along the same line and also have not found time to implement it.

I've copied the folder over to my DR1000 but it pops up "Please wait" and reboots as soon as I enter the "install" folder.

So it crashes before you can press the 'Install MackxHack'? Or after you pressed it during installing? Did you get any dialogs?
The installation is not very stable, since it replaces some system components the installation sometimes crashes during install. I am looking into this for future versions.
Installation can take some time, certainly when installing the schema-files. Normally it helps to be patient, however when installation takes too much time, the DR enters sleep mode, so pressing the menu-button sometimes helps to let the installation continue.

It crashed right after I entered the "Install" folder, consistently. There isn't even time to activate "Install MackxHack". Moving it a folder closer to root (so in the Programs folder) works. Is there anything magical about the Install folder?
