Oh. Weird, I wasn't seeing the new site yesterday. Oh hey..I don't see it on my home computer at all. It shows up at work. Odd. Even in different browsers it still shows the old one on my home desktop. whatever.

Apparently, (thanks to God) they switched back to the old one. I was considering never type again in my browser "amazon.com" after seeing that stupid and big search toolbar.

I had no strong feelings about it either way. didn't seem like a big difference in use other than some menu changes. obviously more tab friendly, but it didn't hinder anything.

I don't care much for the new site either, for pretty much the same reasons others have mentioned - the search is way too touchy and the whole look of the site just seems bland and generic. I've been getting the new site for a week or so using Chrome (and still am), but when I just checked I'm still getting the old site on all the other browsers I have on my system (IE, Firefox, Opera).

I have yet to see the new version show up on any of my devices.
But if the whole point is to improve the experience on tablets, I wish they would focus on more important things first. I picked up a 10" Android tablet a couple of weeks ago and in my view the Kindle app is completely unusable on it until they implement a two-page display mode. The current single page mode has text too wide to comfortably read unless you hold it at arms length. If they can do a two-page mode in the Kindle for PC app, I don't understand why they can't offer that option in the Kindle of Android app. Duane |

(On the iPad app, I bring up the options menu (where I can also choose the font size, the background color, and the brightness), and at the bottom of that dialog box are two cryptic boxes, unlabeled, which are symbols showing one page mode and two page mode. You just pick the one you want and it works fine.) |

The new Amazon site is on my computer at work but not on my home laptop. I wondered if it was because they have Windows 7 at work, while I'm on Windows XP at home. The screen at work is huge and shows many more products on the Amazon home page.

This is common for site changes and new roll-outs. Some people will get the old site for awhile. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I hadn't really intended to use the tablet for reading since I have a Kindle, but it would have been nice for a fallback, if I ever needed it. Duane |

Its back up again, on my home computer, at the moment I type this. I think the apparent difference between computers home/work etc is just the site going back and forth between styles. Like theyre testing it.

I've had the redesign since the sixth and don't have any problem with it. It does take a bit of getting used to since I've been shopping there since '95 and it is certainly a different look.
