THE HARBINGER OF DOOM SAGA

The Harbinger of Doom saga centers around one Lord Angle Theta, an enigmatic warrior of unknown origins and mystical power. No mortal man is his match in battle. No sorcery can contain or confound him. No scholar or sage can outwit him. But for all his skills, he is but one of us; a man, a human, who shares our faults, our dreams, and our ambitions. He boldly strides across the land, fearless, peerless, and cloaked in mystery; all his will bent on righting such wrongs as he deems fit.

Until the day the Gateway opened and turned the world on its head. On that fateful day, Korrgonn came and washed away our dreams. And his outre' realms of chaos set their unholy mark upon our world and claimed it for their own.

Only Theta and his companions see the enemies aligning against us. Only they foresee our end coming -- the end of civilization, the end of the world of man. Only they can hope to turn the tide of madness and preserve all that we hold dear.

But no man, not even our greatest hero, can stand against the Lords of Chaos and the dark armies of Nifleheim at their command. Fiends that infiltrate unseen within our ranks, that tear down our temples and our traditions; that devour us from within, unseen, unknown, unheralded, and unopposed until the hour grows far too late.

Through the murk and mist that hangs before our eyes, one man only sees true. One man pierces the veil of magic that blinds us all and marks the world as it truly is, revealing secrets, secrets of Angle Theta, so horrifying as to shatter a man's mind and call into question the very nature of good and evil.
Join us now on our journey back to the days of high adventure.

I recently uploaded a FREE short science fiction story onto Smashwords.

http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/87392
In this short story, aliens come across television broadcasts from an unknown planet to them. Then, they come across a probe from same planet that tells them everything they need to know about this planet and its people. They decide to visit the planet, but when they arrive, not everything is as it seems.

New Mystery Short From Jim Newell: SOMETIMES “IS” ISN’T

About Sometimes "Is" Isn't:

Identical twins can cause all kinds of difficulty when someone is attempting to decide who is who, not only when both are alive but also when one has died. Which one has died? How do you prove it? It gets even worse when somebody is charged with murdering the one who died. Did he kill the one that everyone thought he killed? What if he didn’t murder either one? Sometimes “is” just plain isn’t!

About Author Jim Newell:

Jim Newell was born in Maine and moved to Canada with his parents at the age of 5, growing up in Nova Scotia where he attended school and graduated from Acadia University in 1951 winning a Gold A for Dramatics and the Class of 1908 Essay prize.

In 1987 Jim retired from teaching as Head of Student Services at his high school and moved back to Bridgewater where he took what he thought of as a retirement job as an investigative reporter with Lighthouse Publishing Limited, writing for the three weekly newspapers that company published, but found himself promoted to Editor of one of the papers after just three months on the job. In four years he received four major awards for column and editorial writing, Again his work was interrupted, this time permanently, as his old nemesis returned in 1991 in the guise of Post-Polio Syndrome. He has been using a wheelchair since 1993.

While working as a reporter Jim also began a monthly devotional column as well as writing short stories, occasional editorials and features for The Atlantic Baptist magazine, continuing for ten years. In 1993, Jim and his wife Dorothy moved back to Ontario, settling in Waterloo, a city where they had three grown children and two granddaughters. His eldest daughter lives in Gatineau, Quebec. In Waterloo he began to write short stories and novels as a hobby, one that has grown to be another career.

Jim has another work with Untreed Reads, the short story collection Never Use a Chicken and Other Stories.

How to Purchase Sometimes "Is" Isn't:

Sometimes "Is" Isn't is available for $1.50 from The Untreed Reads Store (click the link at the beginning of this sentence) in a variety of formats, including EPUB and Kindle formats. Sarah's Spaceship Adventure 2.99

Sarah's Spaceship Adventure is the first book from the Mackenzie Rock universe that I'm publishing. It does not actually come first in the series, those three books are "Julee Mackenzie and the First Officer", "Jara Mackenzie versus the Planet Marl" and "Captain Mackenzie and the Last Chance Spaceship." But SSA was a good place to begin, because it allowed me to establish many of the parameters of the Mackenzie Rock universe.

The story is about Sarah Talmaiz, who sneaks out of her house one evening to go joyriding with her boyfriend on his parent's space yacht. But her boyfriend has an unpleasant plan of his own. But his plan is interrupted by a piece of space junk and then by a young space merchant, and now Sarah is off to the Hoop (asteroid belt) on the adventure of a lifetime.

Presenting SPACE: 1889 & BEYOND - The New Steampunk Serial

A brand new series of ebooks based on the world-renowned Role Playing Game, created by Frank Chadwick and headed by best-selling author Andy Frankham-Allen, Space: 1889 & Beyond takes the concepts and ideas that have thrilled steampunk gamers for over two decades into new and unexpected directions.

Season One of Space: 1889 & Beyond consists of five novellas and one full-length novel. Purchasing a Season Pass will save readers $5.00 off purchasing the titles individually. The Season Pass is only available for purchase through the Untreed Reads store until September 30, 2011.

This series follows the exploits of “Professor” Nathanial Stone, scientific genius and unwilling adventurer, and Miss Annabelle Somerset, born adventuress and niece of infamous scientist Doctor Cyrus Grant, as they travel the inner worlds uncovering secret plots and encountering strange creatures. From the unexplored subterranean world of Luna, all the way to the divided sands of Mars, and back again, adventure and wild daring-do is never far away.

The inaugural episode, JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF LUNA, is now available.

The first series of six ebooks is brought to you by some of the best names in the field of steampunk, science fiction and horror:

Andy Frankham-Allen is a Welsh-born author of many short stories and several Doctor Who anthologies. In early 2011 Hirst Publishing and Untreed Reads published the first novel in his new real-world dark fantasy series, The Garden. In June 2011 he was also Author of the Month with Queer Magazine Online.

K.G. McAbee writes steampunk, fantasy, horror, science fiction, pulp and YA, plus a few more genres from time to time just to keep her hand in. She’s had seventeen books and over ninety-one short stories and novellas published so far, and is coauthor of the new steampunk series The Brass Chronicle.

Mark Michalowski is the author of four BBC Doctor Who novels, a Doctor Who spin-off novel and a BBC Being Human novel, as well as more short stories than he can count (mainly, he says, because he’s never been very good at counting).

L. Joseph Shosty lives in Beaumont, Texas with his wife and son. He is the author of nearly fifty short stories, as well as numerous essays, articles, book reviews and poems. A novel, Sign of the Hanged Man, was serialized on the web, and his story collection, Hoodwinks on a Crumbling Fence, was published in 2000.

Frank Chadwick is the creator of the Space: 1889 universe, with over a hundred published games. He is also well-known in the history and military affairs field, with over two hundred books, articles, and columns. His 1991 Desert Shield Fact Book reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list.

J.T. Wilson is an author, a script consultant and a musician. He is the manager of the band Deathsex Bloodbath and the wrestling zombie Chris Stone, is a traveller in Unspace, and describes himself as a renowned lover and a compulsive liar. He is best known for his far-fetched fiction novel Cemetery Drive.

Ten Good Reasons To Lie About Your Age

A romance for the Bridget Jones generation who don't feel like they've grown up yet let alone old. Set in London and the Greek island of Hydra, spiritual home of the affluent hippie.

99 cents!

SHADOW OF THE MASTER

My name is Matthew Miller. I have recently published my first short novel, SHADOW OF THE MASTER via Amazon for the Kindle platform and via Barnes and Noble for the Nook platform. It is a collaborative effort with my late mother. She had written a “framework” manuscript about 30 years ago, shopped it around briefly to publishers and, getting no bites, packed it up. The manuscript had lain dormant for a number of years. My mom passed away in 2009 and, in the aftermath I remembered SHADOW. I asked my dad if he knew where the manuscript might be. He was able to find it and I asked him if he had any objections if I took a stab at revising, updating, and reworking it and going the self-publishing route. He was thrilled with the idea and I went forward with it.

SHADOW went live on Amazon on Sunday. It is a novel that provides a new perspective on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ through the eyes of a “thirteenth disciple”: a stray dog that decides to accompany Jesus on his journeys after He shows him kindness. It is an exciting, Biblically-based story that is written to appeal to all ages.

I am also at work on my first full-length novel, STILL SMALL VOICE, which I anticipate completing and publishing by spring 2012.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my wife and son. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, animals, fitness, martial arts, and the outdoors. Check out my website. Follow me on Twitter.

Fox and the Peach

I'm excited to present my first novel, Fox and the Peach. It is the late 16th century and Japan has fallen under the grip of the renegade warlord Oda Nobunaga. Such matters mean little to Momo Takamoto, a young girl adopted by the local silk weaver of a small village. But Momo is not all she seems - she is kitsune, blessed with the power to shift between a fox and a human - and those who know this soon come for her. Caught between a tribe of assassins and a mysterious group of outsiders, Momo finds herself in a web of bloodshed and intrigue. But while strange and terrifying creatures such as tengu, tanuki, and oni go to war over her, Momo realizes that her own powers are just beginning to emerge…

This book is set to release on October 1st this year. You can read the prologue at http://madnessbooks.blogspot.com. My facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/foxandthepeach?sk=info.

Women's fiction with a time-travel twist.

Lily’s life isn’t going well. Her husband is clueless; her children are rudderless. It's little wonder she seeks comfort in her dreams, unaware that grandmother’s rubies have transported her back through time to a safer, saner existence.

When she learns that her dream lover is not a dream after all, but a real man who lived and died years before she was born, family problems mount. Because she can’t repair the damage from the past, she vows to stay in the here and now. She almost succeeds when she accidentally sends herself back in time without her return ticket, the rubies.

"I would recommend this novel as one of those books that moves the reader through the days, months, and years of living, that open the reader's awareness to circumstances that, in this case, may be just a bit unique.” Judith of The Book Binge.

First two chapters of Rubies and Other Gems - the Novel on my website. Visitors welcome.

Now that Serendipity House is no longer under contract, I've put it out with a new cover and a new, lower price. Publisher previously had it listed at twice the amount. Here is a little about it.

Sylvie was a pleaser. She did as her mother pleased, and she did as her fiancé pleased. Then she did as she pleased. Determined to take back her life, she heads to the hills instead of to the altar on the day she’s to wed. Coming across a quaint, country inn with an intriguing name, she impulsively checks in. Peopled with an odd assortment of characters, the inn has clearly seen better days; even the regulars have a bit of wear on them. So when attractive Alex arrives and is strangely comfortable vacationing among the geriatric set, Sylvie tries to ignore him.

But Alex will not be ignored, pushing her buttons until she admits, if only to herself, that she's falling for him. Not until she's hired to manage the inn does she learn he's not the businessman he pretends to be, but a streetwise PI hired by her ex to find her. Adding insult to injury, he buys the inn and asks for her help in restoring it to its former glory, not an easy task with someone sabotaging their efforts.

Forced to work together, both learn about relationships, expectations, and acceptance, among family members as well as strangers who become like family.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you'll check it out.

Boomerang is a comic novel of international intrigue, with a cast of characters that a lot of readers are finding undeniably memorable. Thousands sold so far in the UK and US. I would love for you to have a look.

Approximately 86,000 words. Just $0.99 at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Sony and Apple.

Ted Hogwood's beloved Sarah, a jazz guitar, is in the window of Topp Dollar Pawn. The only way he can get the money to rescue her is to accept an assignment from the AABC, a not nearly official branch of the United States intelligence community. He is partnered with Jerry Kwiatkowski, master of the Hammond B-3 organ and chronic flatulence sufferer, to steal a boomerang containing secrets that should have died with J. Edgar Hoover over thirty years ago. It would be a simple job if only they knew what they were doing. And if a crossbow wielding assassin, two unemployed Australian women, The Director of Central Intelligence and a clothing optional former onion festival queen were not also hot on the boomerang's trail.

Thanks,
Alan

Free short story and free novel

On Smashwords, I'm offering one of my novels for free without a coupon and a short science fiction story for free.

Shattered Earth my novel on Smashwords, science fiction, which is now free on Apple too.
Advanced humans, called Terrans, leave Earth when its threatened by a massive meteor. The remaining humans on Earth fall back into primitiveness. The advanced humans, and a group of aliens, the Ragnor, involve Earth in an interstellar war. Thousands of years later, the humans of Earth decide to do something about this. Interstellar politics will never be the same again once Earth is done with their revenge. These Terrans involve themselves throughout human history. Some play as King Arthur and Merlin. Another is a scientist, whose name is Galileo, and he gets into all sorts of trouble for challenging official orthodoxy about the sun, the Earth, and which one is revolving around the other. Then, we have Amelia Earhart, who has a very valid reason for disappearing. When an alien spaceship gets shot down over Roswell in 1947, President Truman orders the creation of Area 51, Project Blue Book and Sign, and has the United States embark on a plan that will culminate 60 years in the future. Nothing will ever be the same again when the United States gets involved in interstellar politics. But, the whole plan backfires when Earth ends up the worse for wear over it. Other species find out what Earth did, since no one else was bold enough to even try, so they want to help bring down the Ragnor once and for all. The new President of the United States imagines a galactic federation or a republic, but, none of the other species wants anything to do with it. Once they destroy the Ragnor’s technology, they leave the Ragnor to ponder why all the other species hated them enough to attack them. Will the galaxy remain at peace?

Voyager and the Aliens, my free science fiction short story on Smashwords
In this short story, aliens come across television broadcasts from an unknown planet to them. Then, they come across a probe from same planet that tells them everything they need to know about this planet and its people. They decide to visit the planet, but when they arrive, not everything is as it seems.
