Yes, actually they do. Are you still running the older firmware, or did you update to 1.0.1? I've just confirmed twice now that all of my sideloaded books appear under Books.

Er, no, sorry, I was mistaken. I forgot that I had converted them to EPUBs in Calibre.

If 5 USD are enough to put you off the purchase then by all means don't buy it, but I really fail to see how this makes such a difference.
Why should customers be forced to buy a microSD card when the nook should have enough memory? This basically means you have to spend more money to buy a microSD card that will then use more battery then if all of the internal memory was not partitioned. Do you honestly think this is good overall?

No one is "forced" to buy anything. Chances are that the majority of owners of the Nook STR will never sideload many (if any) books, let alone use up all of the available space for sideloaded books. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

(IMHO) it is still a flaw and a big enough flaw not to warrant recommending one. Enough said on this topic of the nook and it's memory flaw.

It's certainly not ideal, with that I'll agree, but as an owner of the device, I don't believe it's big enough of a flaw to tarnish my own enjoyment of it, nor most other people's, for that matter.

Another post said that if you put them in \My Files\Books on the external card they showed up in books. I have not tested that yet. But I am running 1.0.1 and I put the books in a directory books or something like that in the root of the external card. And then they only show up if you choose "all". Notice that I only talk about sideloaded books on the external card.

I agree. Especially since it the user interface does not work so good with thousands of books.
