Your last three post complaining about it probably took more time than just clicking the link.

I've been off of MR for too long, but what do I find? My favorite thread still up and running and on page 1.

Awesome!

I have no zombie books to recommend, glad you're all suggesting some to me!

Just finished the audiobook version of "The Undead Situation." Why can't the guys write characters as good as Cyrus V. (the V stands for Vainglorious) Sinclair (though DiLouie is pretty good).

I second "Ex-Heroes" by Peter Clines.

Ex-Patriots is on deck and was anxiously awaited.

Hi everyone,

First time posting in this thread, but I spent most of last night reading through all the great suggestions (and looking up copies, wherever I could). I'm surprised that no one has mentioned The Passage by Justin Cronin yet. (Purchased as ePub from google ebooks but I'm sure you can find this novel elsewhere).

It's a first novel, and a promising new series, that includes elements of horror, post-apolcalyptic world building, and includes a bit of The Standish magical realism. The main focus of the book revolves around a unique blend of creatures that are zombie-vampire hybrids. When reading it, I thought of the critters more like zombies than vampires but I suppose one can say that they may lean more to the vampy side.

I enjoyed the book immensely and am looking forward to the sequel.

I hope everyone is safe and working on their zombie plans!

It's the first in a trilogy, but it's actually Cronin's fourth book - but the others aren't in the same genre (I'm not sure what they are but they aren't horror or apocalyptic fiction).

I thought the creatures were more like some kind of demon vampire than a zombie, like the really old style vampires - "nosferatu" etc.

Awesome book though. I loved it. The only complaints I might have is that there was rarely any good stuff happening to anyone and a few time a couple of the characters made decisions that didn't really make a lot of sense to me (all subjective I guess).

Without going back through the thread.... Just a reminder for those that are fans of "The Walking Dead," there is going to be a little side-story coming about that chronicles *spoilers, perhaps* how Philip came to be the Governor at Woodbury.

Comes out October 11.
