We'll never know. The shelter neuters all dogs they let out for adoption.

I went by the shelter today and the dog is still there. I put in first choice for adoption papers, but now I have to get Norton's city tag up to date before the 12th. His shots and monthly heart-worm prevention are all up to date, but I've been kind of slack on the city tags.

One of my wife's trucks is being repaired, and the other doesn't work, so she's using my car to go back and forth to work three times a day. Doesn't leave me much time to run around and get my ducks in a row. I don't know why she doesn't just sell trade them both in on something that runs.

My first choice would be for the owners to come to the shelter and claim that dog. We don't need another dog, can't afford another dog, and she's much bigger than I would like as a companion for Norton, but I'll be damn if I'll let the shelter kill her. She's too sweet, and I promised her today that everything would be okay.

If I do get her, and that looks likely, I'll name her Crystal. She's a big, black lab. Crystal seems right.

I hope all goes well with you with your new adoption. I truly don't understand owners that abandon their dogs, or that don't try to find lost pets. Why did they bother having a pet in the first place?

I know how persuasive those big Lab eyes can be! You've made a wonderful promise to her!

Doing research on getting an internet/wifi radio. I mostly listen to BBC channels on my PC and reception of FM/AM is very bad in our house so an internet/wifi radio seems like a good solution. At the moment the Logitech Squeezebox Radio looks like a good contender.

Ask your grand dad for a lend of his radio. Look for shortwave. It;s free, and they still broadcast.

We have very bad reception, I like to listen BBC World and I simply can't receive it anywhere in the house. Plus I like the idea that I can listen to my music anywhere in the house.

Finding out my sink isn't big enough! I bought a set of copper bottomed stainless steel cookware. They put a clear coat on the copper bottoms so they won't tarnish before you buy them. The instructions say to dissolve three tablespoons of baking soda in 3 quarts hot water and soak each piece for 20 minutes to remove the coating. Well, I only have the stopper for one side of my double sink, so only one pan at a time fits. I'm really glad I didn't get a set with more pieces! I sincerely hope the instructions are correct and/or that they're tailored to dunces, because you sure can't tell when the coating is gone. I'm having to go on faith that the soaking did it. If not, I'll find out the first time I use the pans and it leaves black marks all over the pretty copper bottoms....

I've been watching one of the opening to the Rugby World Cup where England just scraped by the rather tasty Argentina.

Sigh of relief.

You could do it in the bathtub, for more than one piece at a time, scaling the instructions appropriately.

I did consider it, Dennis. But I have the huge clawfoot enamel over cast iron tub that is a million years old (at a guess) and decided the sink was a better option... LOL.

Stitchawl, I hope I can keep these looking nice and shiny, but as you say... I actually cook with my cookware, so we'll see what happens.

For the third time this year, a baby snake made its way into my sister's school somehow. This one was spotted in the hallway by some students as it slithered into the electrical closet. Bev caught it and we took it to the state park yesterday and released it, after showing it to the rangers and various park guests. It was a baby Eastern King Snake, a very beneficial species. It's actually a good snake to have on your property, but Bev was afraid it would get run over by the lawn mower if she tried to release it at home. Here's a picture right before we released it, but I'm putting it in spoiler tags to protect KK. It was a gorgeous little snake.

thank you for taking care of me! ;o) I opened up a telephone junction box, a BIG one, it had 5000 lines in it, to find a snake (probably garter) had taken up residence in the cables. it almost made me weeweewee all the way home. I certainly wawawa'd all the way to my truck!
