This one might be have it for his political potent venom in the snake pit.
Quite possible ![]() One of the best places on the Internet. I can think only of one more place, this time the whole forum (Russian speaking but the majority of its members are like me, immigrants), that I like as much. Unfortunately, I don't have as much time as I used to. I just had a second cup of Bai Mu Dan Tie Guan Yin 'Iron Goddess of Mercy' Grade C October 2010. I adjusted a steeping a bit. Instead of 2tsps/1min20sec I had 3tsps/1min. I liked the flavour. Very good ![]() Tired. Just finished vacuum cleaning my house. Need food injection. Last edited by astra; 09-10-2011 at 07:06 PM. |

Gazpacho, plain. Don't know what to eat after. There is a huge plate of spaghettis on the stove, but I made it for the kids, I don't want to touch any.
I like pasta, so it is hard, plus I have a cheese craving right now.... |

It is very unpopular to live with parents here. Parents themselves are not keen on living with children and try to get rid of them as soon as economically possible for both parties. Last edited by astra; 09-11-2011 at 03:56 PM. Reason: kin???? --->keen |

![]() I always answer sarcastically that they can't understand, they love their horse & hound more than they like their own kids. (it is a joke, I have to specify it, before I get myself banned ![]() |

It is a big thread, the third largest, although it started 18 months later than the first and even later than the second one.
By far it is my preferred. I like some reading books threads and have fun with some on P&R, but here, there is an atmosphere that is so friendly and relaxed that is quite unique. ![]() |

They should be eaten 'al dente', that is the exact moment that they loose the hard core and become soft. Why? For an important nutritional reason. From that point on, if one continues to cook them, the Glycemic Index keeps increasing. That means that the sugars are released in the blood stream faster. A part from negative effects on people that are sensitive to this, it means that the sense of satiety will disappear earlier, and one becomes hungry again. A sauce that contains some fat, oil or butter, will give a coating to the pasta and make its assimilation slower, thus increasing the amount of time that one feels satisfied. For us Italian, this is an acquired taste, as Mamma cooked our first dish of pasta exactly like that. But it is based on sound nutritional reasons. So, you Northerners, do cook your pasta al dente and you will feel better, and it will last you longer. Last edited by beppe; 09-10-2011 at 07:56 PM. Reason: adding few commas |

![]() Apparently, the cultures that have the strongest parental links are those of the Jewish and of the Italians. In Italy, in spite of the disastrous financial situation, common to all the Western World, we are doing fine because family support is strong. |

![]() Hold me tight and whisper what you wish for, there is no one here around You may sing-song me sweet smiles regardless of the city's careless frown Come watch the no colors fade blazing into petal sprays of violets of dawn In blindfull wonderment's enchantment, you can lift my wings softly to flight Your eyes are like swift fingers reaching out into the pockets of my night Whirling twirling puppy warm before the flashing cloaks of darkness gone Come see the no colors fade blazing into petal sprays of violets of dawn So Prince Charming I'll be on two white steeds to bring you dappled diamond crowns And climb your tower Sleeping beauty 'fore you ever know I've left the ground You can wear a Cinderella, Snow White, Alice Wonderlanded gown Come watch the no colors fade blazing into petal sprays of violets of dawn But if I seem to wander off in dreamlike looks please let me settle slowly. It's only me just staring out at you, a seeming stranger speaking holy No I don't mean to wake you up, it's only loneliness just coming on So let the no colors fade blazing into petal sprays of violets of dawn Like shadows bursting into mist behind the echoes of this nonsense song It's just a chase in whispering trail of secret steps, oh see them laughing on There's magic in the sleepiness of waking to a childish sounding yawn Come watch the no colors fade blazing into petal sprays of violets of dawn ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhEJ_ZCZuqE ) What a delight! I woke up with my favorite love song going round and round in my head! Good morning, everyone! Sunny Sundays! And a mug of my new Keemun tea sent to me by that wonderful East India Company! Yes, Astra, it is their Keemun Downy Bud Tea Loose Leaf, and a very nice brew indeed. I think I still prefer that unbranded keemun I got from the Chinese Import shop, but only because it was a bit more potent in my mouth. The flavors are almost the same. Quote:

![]() But then, we were hippies. My son is much more conservative. He even wore a Tux for his wedding. (His mother and I didn't even wear shoes to ours.) Where did I go wrong? ![]() I think another mug of East India Company's Keemun tea is in order. Then I need to go out and buy some fish! I put in an aquarium three days ago!
