Free ebooks don't count for this thread.

I do have 50 books (+ or - 5) that I bought, but have not yet read.

As for buying more, there are only 2 that I plan to buy soon, as in the next 2 weeks.

You're an addict. You've come to the right thread for help.

Consider this: why are you planning on buying two more ebooks, when you have 50 or so books that you've already bought and, presumably, want to read?

The two books you're planning to buy will still be there when you've read another 20 of your current stock of books, and might even go down in price. Why buy now?

Ohh, I remember the nightmare of being on vacation and having finished my last book with days left! And then, after finally locating a bookstore, finding out that they only sell books in German... (we usually go either to Switzerland, Austria or Germany...) And then, because what else can you do?, starting again on the first book you finished, hoping you could go home soon...

Ohhhhh, the blessings of an electronic device which holds dozens (or more) books that you can read when you finished your current one!

The first book is part of a series I am currently reading, and the second is a "have to have" that I know I won't get to anytime soon. My fear for the second book is that it will go up in price instead of down, which is what happened to me with the Dragon Tattoo books. When I first thought about buying them they were only $5.00 each. By the time I decided to buy them the first 2 were $9.99 and the 3rd was $12.99 so I didn't buy any of them after all.

Oh, and I double checked my e-books. My count was off.. some of the books were given/gifted and therefore neither purchased nor free. Some of the others weren't proper books, but samples and what not, so I have 40 purchased books that I have not yet read.

Problem is, that only works if your library actually has ebooks. Mine has never even heard of it....

Hey we have something in common!!

My library is very aware, but does not see participating in e-book loaning any time soon, due to lack of funds. If you met the people on our local school board you'd understand why. These people believe that uninterrupted reading (which is a requirement in our schools), can not actually take place in the library - children must stay in their classrooms.

I tried that, while still at school. And failed miserably. I can survive with my German (though, not in French), but not enough to read any interesting book. And I find two languages enough...

i've realized that i'm becoming obsessed with books. i'm checking my amazon recommendations several times a day now (as if they actually really update).
