Thank you for the welcomes!

I have a developing vision problem and reading from a screen is recommended over reading a book. My first choice in a reader is going to have to be a screen size equal to at least a paperback , but preferably a book.
Is anybody familiar with the freeware program "ybook"? this seems to make any screen almost satisfactory, but then I run into the problem of weight. I think upto about 500 grams maybe even 750 grams might be lightweight enough. Anyone know of a laptop or notebook of that weight that might have the insides striped down to just a reader and viewer set of elements.
And for general information > has anzone run accross the program ABC Lite.

The newer Readers, I beleive, weigh less than you mention.

You might look at the weights of these three units, in no particular order of importance, as they're all fine Readers:

1) Cybook Gen3
2) Sony PRS-505
3) Kindle

You can change the font size on these units. I own the Sony unit and it has three font sizes. The unit with the MOST variety of font sizes is the Cybook Gen3. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the font-size choices on the Kindle.

I've heard of ybook, but I'm not familiar with it.

You'll find e-Ink Readers EXTREMELY comfortable to read from. If you like to read in the dark, then you might consider the Ebookwise 1150, as it has a backlit screen. The technology is different - and it's an older technology - but this is also a choice to consider.

I hope this helped on some of your questions.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Screen size

I assume that a 6 inch screen refers to the distence from one corner of the screen to the diagonallz opposite. If so that seems prettz small to me.
I just looked at the reference here to Netronixinc ===E-300 and, I still think that a laptop/notebook screen size would be more congenial (if I could find one light enough).
