I went down to the music store today to pick up my Les Paul... but then I began to think... Do I really want to play like Les Paul or do I want to play like B.B. King?

So I asked the shop guy (who already set up the Les Paul) if I could change my mind at this late date. "No problem!" says he... So he started pulling guitars off the wall and plugging them in... They had an Epiphone 'Lucille' on the rack... But they also had an Epiphone "Dot" right next to it. Some small differences, (biggest being the tunable tailpiece and the solid face on Lucille,) but as I'm only a neophyte Rock Star and need to hone my act before attracting groupies, saving $600 and getting the 'Dot' made more sense... especially as my wife will now allow me to remain in the same bedroom tonight. The 'Dot' I chose has a sunburst face rather than a solid color, like this. Much nicer...

I compared the Dot, Lucille, and a Les Paul Custom, and really prefer the way the Dot felt. The Les Paul had a 'dead' feel to it. Not the sound; that was fine. Just something about the guitar itself... Lucille was nice but I really couldn't hear a difference between her and the Dot. At half the price of Lucille, the Dot came home with me... along with a Roland Loop Station pedal. This is fun...

My job here is done.

Really, it sounds like you couldn't go wrong with any of those choices. I like the looks of that Dot. Makes me want to take up guitar.

jealous. I can't even play two chords on the guitar. My girl sized fingers seem way too big. (bloke has big man fingers and he can do it).

It's really remarkable... I am now able to make more noise than a trio of 7-year olds playing on drums, bagpipes, and a garbage can!

I have a software/hardware program called "JamVox." This combines a small amplifier with a computer array of a dozen different amps, three dozen different effects pedals, and a host of other electric guitar distortion tools. When I hook this up with my Roland LoopStation and guitar, I can simulate the sound of the End of the World in progress.

Last night my wife asked me when I was planning to go back to playing music...

*sigh*

I heard a funny noise! I looked out the window because I though someone was in our shed. nuthin! So I get off my chair (big effort) and go through the house where I see the washing machine sitting at a jaunty angle.

Somehow the quilt cover had managed to eat a sheet and some pillowcases and made itself into a large heavy wet ball. The poor washing machine was trying to spin.

Naughty quilt cover. It shouldn't be too hungry, it has been eating a big doona for the past couple of weeks! One can only surmise that it was after some variety.

Call it a 'duvet' and it will think it's French. Have you ever eaten in one of those nouveau French restaurants? You only get one asparagus spear, two green peas, a single (very small) slice of meat, all surrounded by a tablespoon of fancy sauce. Your quilt cover will have to go on a diet! Problem solved!

Every two weeks I run a clipper over my head and face. On my head it's set to 3mm, and for my face it's set to 14mm. Very easy. No mess. No cost.

Most salons have a lot of hairdressers and the chance that you get the same one are very slim. The hairdresser who cut my hair earlier this week did listen to my wishes and understood I'm not someone who wants to spend (preferably any) time getting my hair right each morning, the girl I who helped me the last time didn't understand that.

Every month a hairdresser comes to my friends' place to cut hair but she doesn't listen to what you want, if she thinks it won't suit you she won't cut it that way. She would never have cut my hair like I have it now but I love it and I've had several customers complement me.

Now I have to decide which colour I'm going to dye it, "chocolate brown" or a darker brown.

I think men have it so much easier when it comes getting haircuts!

The day I hear a woman return from a hair salon and say to anyone at all, "That's exactly what I wanted. Look how good they did my hair." I'll start . . . . . just fill in the next sentence for me please

The reds are too red, he highlights aren't enough, they cut way too much off the back . . . . shut up Mark before . . . . WACK!
