I thought Woolworths went out of business. I was there in the UK at one of the stores not long before it closed and it was a vast wasteland.

Definitely out of business in the UK, yes.

sabredog is from Australia from the look of things though, so possibly still going strong there?

Can't wait to get mine... after I lost my 650 I have been waiting patiently for the new one to be available... for now I borrow the 505 from the wife.

Woolworths, along with Coles, are the biggest retail companies in Australia. Woolworths own Dick Smith Electronics, Big W (similar to Kmart and Target), several differing liquor stores, Caltex-Woolworths petrol station chain to name a few. Plus they are getting into hardware as well.

They had no affiliation with the UK Woolworths that went bankrupt a few years back

They will not be going bust any time soon.

The UK sony.co.uk site lists 3 e-reader products starting from £120, and that lower price is for the old PRS-300, though the 300 (£120), 350 (£149) and 650 (£199) are all shown as temporarily unavailable.

When the Dutch retailer bol.com accidentally posted pricing details, it was €165, with corresponds to about £150 (or slightly less).

The US price of $149 equates to about £95, but I seriously doubt they would price it anywhere near that in the UK. I expect to see a $1 = £1 exchange rate for a price of £149-ish.

They'd have to be mad to price it anywhere near £200, given long-standing Kindle 3 prices.

The representative in the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOMi8CWV_Dk stated at 1:11 that the price will be €149, £129, and $149.

Err, NO.

If you look at the 'More Info' for the T1 it says - "Sorry, price information for this product is not currently available."

The £120 price is for the PRS 300 - which is temporarily unavailable, as are they all.

At the bottom of the PRS-T1 page on the Sony website (under comments), it states:

"The world’s lightest new eBook Reader available in stores as of 31/08/2011"
