Hi I'm Kumabjorn and I am an e-book addict. i wish I had stayed with crack, life was so much easier in those days. You didn't scurry around the net begging for freebies when you were jonesing. Never woke up grabbing for my pipe the way I snatch my Kindle. In those days I had dignity, never do a BJ for a smoke, now I do it for a few pages. Didn't need to know what a torrent was to get some smack. Now I have to "Manage my Kindle"! WTF!
Only upside is now I can construct a grammatically correct sentence, Yo Dog!

I am reading this thread as a way to limit my budding obsession. The mentions of all the sites with discounted e books seems to be adding fuel to my buying fire. I tremble, trapped by guilt and anticipation.

Welcome to the thread. How many months worth of books do you have in your TBR pile?

I hope the suggestions in the thread on how to cope with the urge to buy have been helpful to you. I find the 'add to a wishlist' idea particularly good.

Not sure that I'm an addict yet but have the feeling I could be if I wasn't so busy with so many other things. I guess it's good that I am (busy)! My problem is that I actually get depressed over the fact that I will never in my lifetime have time to do all the things I want to do which includes reading a whole s*itload of ebooks! My partner keeps telling me to stop adding things to my list of things to do/read and I won't get so stressed out! But...but...

Rather than worry about all the books you won't have time to read, read and enjoy the ones that you do have time for. Easier said than done, I know.

It doesn't count if I got a Chapters gift card in the mail. Does it? Does it?

I've got three books in my cart. They were all on my Amazon wishlist, but you know with the gift card and all, it's okay, right? To boot, I've only got one book on my purchased and not finished reading list and I'm currently reading it.

Anyway it's too late, I already finished the order.

Only ONE book on your TBR list doesn't make you an addict. I think we need to institute a minimum 100 book entry requirement!
