The nook color sold because of the price and that it was rooted and different versions of the OS could be loaded or booted from SD.

They acquired IBM a while back. I have a Lenovo all in one desktop that I love. Bought it last year - fantastic specs and a significantly lower prices than computers with similar hardware. They are also known for being one of the better manufacturers as far as not installing a bunch of "crapware" on their computers.

I don't know why it shouldn't be . It has a capacItive touch screen so you can turn the page by just touching left/right sides.

Unless you're just dead set on physical page turn buttons in which case you'll be disappointed b/c the article says it has zero button. They out-Jobbed Steve Jobs!

Anyway I'm disappointed bc looks like no new eink kindle (Kinkle?) if this guy is to be believed. 7"LCD = right size, wrong tech for me.

Oh so they are IBM okay... I'm out of the loop on PC companies. My Gateway was one of those crapware PCs. Worst PC I've bought. Motherboard has a short in it. PSU died 14 days out of warranty and then the hard drive and the fans had to replaced due to it throwing oil everywhere. It's still works for everything but no gaming if I want the motherboard to live. lol

I hope best buy carries them or walmart. I like to get mine either locally or through a trusted retailer.

Wow, a little insecure huh? For someone that seems so happy with e-ink, you sure are defensive about it. If you bothered reading posts in this and other ebook forums, you'd see I'm not alone. Maybe you're just one of those people that can't stand anyone having an opinion that doesn't agree with their own.

You haven't missed it. It's still going on. Staples sells them everyday. A few times a day. Unfortunately, you have to be quick. Like super fast. On Tuesday they were available for an hour. Since then, they pop up a few seconds at a time. People have written programs to do the buying for them so if it takes you more than 2 seconds to order, you'll miss out until the next time. You've heard of High Frequency trading in the stock market right? We have High Frequency buying now.

They are the 4th largest computer maker in the word. It's not that they are IBM, it's that "IBM" is them. It's a cooperative relationship. Lenovo makes the hardware but IBM still provides the service. I still consider the Lenovo Thinkpad X line, the best laptops made in the world. The build quality is a step above anything from Apple or Sony.

Lenovo's known for solid build quality as well--I've had a T400 (laptop) for a few years now, and this thing just won't die! (I'd like it to, so I can justify getting a new one! )

no, not insecure at all, besides, in my opinion, one post on this issue (especially after all of yours) doesn't make a person defensive. just who are you to allege that i've not bothered to do something? you have no knowledge what i may or may not have done! finally, i don't mind you having an opinion about anything, i simply asked you politely to please quit stating your opinion on this issue as fact, to which you responded rudely with personal insults.

Probably not a brand sold around here which is why they are new to me. We have best buy and that's it.

lenovo's designs are aimed at the business market, some best buys may not even carry the brand.
