Move book summary to Kindle?

I love, love, love the Get Metadata feature, and spend some time getting it just right when I add a book. I usually use the email feature to send books to my kindle right from Calibre. Is there a way to have the book summary go too? I was keeping the books on my kindle to a managable level, but once again, it has gotten so that I don't remember exactly why I had to send that book to my Kindle.

You can convert the book from MOBI to MOBI and use the insert metadata as first page of book conversion option, before emailing it.

It is a Tick box on the Structure Detection screen.

To make this your Default (for new Book conversions),
Preferences: Common Options: Structure Detection

If you have ever converted the book, the older preference/settings are stored and re-used: You can either change it in the Structure Detection Section of the Conversion screen (keeps all the other conversion settings intact)
OR
Click the "Restore Defaults" to use ALL of the current preferences for conversion.

Can I select only the summary of the book to be presented at the first page instead of all the metadata?

You can customize the 'Jacket' Template (found in the resourses folder of YOUR calibre configuration folder)

BTW I don't think Kiwidudes Modify EPUB uses this, so be aware that your custom might be bypassed at some time later.

What don't you want to be included, apart from the book description it only shows the title and tags does it not?

I've been short changed - my resources folder only contains the images used by the OpenWith & GenerateCover plugins

What did I do/not-do - I've sometimes thought about using jackets but didn't see any way to include custom columns, so they were fleeting thoughts only.

Just copy the one Jacket Folder) from the Program files resources folder.
Then edit away, you can add custom columns, change style ...
Calibre checks the resources folder FIRST and uses any resource needed if found there.

- how is a mere mortal supposed to know that

I keep a symlink to the configuration folder (which I prefer to leave in its default location) in the folder where I keep my Calibre Libraries - easier to find and it gets backed up with the libraries.

Given I don't have covers, its inevitable that I would now ask, is there an easy way to put the jacket at the back of the book ?

Hand edit the EPUB OPF (last in play order).

Note this will probably not survive a Pretty, Modify EPUB or even a Send/Save
